What about a four player swap with 76ers
Tracy Mcgrady,Trevor Ariza, Brian Cook and Joey Dorsey for Iggy, Dalembert, Kapono and Speights. The money matches and we get bigger and have an actual shooting guard. Kapono is a sharp shooter and Spieghts has a lot of upside. We would not be able to sign everyone back next year but would have a pretty darn good team when Yao gets back. This would add a lot of talent to this years squad and make us much much deeper on the bench.

They won’t take that trade. Ariza’s value has never been lower than it is right now, so I doubt anybody would want his contract in the first place. Dorsey’s value is dubious at best. Basically the only value we’re providing them with is McGrady’s and Cook’s expiring contracts, which are nice, but not nearly nice enough to bring back Iggy and Speights—especially if Philly has to throw in Kapono (an expiring contract with some value as a player) to make the deal balance.
I could see a deal like this happening, but with Speights involved, we’d definitely have to offer some real, cheap talent in return… something to help them rebuild. Best case, Budinger and a draft pick or something like that… worst case, Brooks or Landry.
Or take brand instead of dalembert :)
But yes, sixer fans have no interest in trevor ariza – his contract is long too and as far as this fan is concerned, he’s not better than iguodala.
Keep in mind folks, when proposing sixer trades that the sixers probably are currently over the 2011 luxury tax number, and that first and foremost if their trade motivation…not getting better on the court as much as shedding the contracts that will make them pay the 2011 luxury tax.

I like it
I like it. It gets rid of Ariza the Bricklayer.
How about this trade
Trevor Ariza to the Lakers for Ron Artest. Ariza plays defense okay but Artest is on track for defensive player of the year. Ariza can’t seem to hit the rim unless he is right under the basket. Artest can shoot.
I've said this before - Artest is in the perfect spot.
LA basically covers up all Artest’s bad traits and let’s the good ones shine.
He can play very physical D because his weakness, notably eroding speed and quickness, is papered over by the 3 7-footers underneath. Someone who can blow by Artest is someone who can be stopped by Bynum or Gasol or possibly Odom.
His shooting is good because he only gets good looks – Trevor Ariza’s former looks in fact. Teams are rightfully worried about Bryant and Gasol. They’ll take their chances with Artest beating them. Sometimes he does.
He’s with a team that can control him. He’s not going to roll over Jackson or Bryant. He’s the 3rd=4th banana and it suits his present level of play well.
Ariza is going to look a lot better with Yao and scoring wing, believe that.
Significant gravitas shortfall expected in 2010.
In what world is artest on track for defensive player of the year.
This is a guy who just last week blamed his shoes for his poor play and is having a hard time fitting into a system where he can’t shoot it every time he wants it.
I live in the LA radio market, and trust me, out here, right now, they miss Ariza more than they love Artest. Artest was a name signing on the wrong side of his career slope.
