BRING BACK RAFER!!

Star-divide

Hey Rafe:

The Dream Shake Community needs you...even if the Rockets don't!!  We are tired of taking all of our frustrations out on T-Mac!  We are tired of talking about how much of a horrible shooter Trevor Ariza (give us 2 good "Arizas" why we signed your non-shooting/dribbling @$$)  is!!

Bring back "0-fer", I mean, Rafer, so all the REAL Rockets fans will have something to legitimately complain about!!

Ahhhhh...the good ole dayz......Like this quote from ESPN after the Toronto game:

ARIZA SHOOTS BLANKS IN LOSS AT TORONTO

"Trevor Ariza missed all nine of his field-goal attempts in the Rockets' 101-88 loss at Toronto. The last Rockets player to shoot 0-for-9 or worse in one game was Rafer Alston, with an 0-for-11 performance against the Kings in April 2006. The last player to shoot 0-for-9 or worse at Air Canada Centre? That was Alston too. As a member of the Raptors, he went 0-for-12 in a loss to the Bucks in January 2005.

Not to pile on needlessly, but for the record Alston shot 0-for-8 from the field in the Nets' loss at Atlanta on Sunday."

No cursing in title. No pirated material, such as links to online game streams. Do not cut/paste entire sections of content from other websites. Thanks.

There is always …

… Brian Cook to complain about…

I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...

Rafer at times actually contributed to the team

Brian Cook, on the other hand, is the epitome of legitimate complaints.

Well the complaints are obviously not related to his play

The guy, who occasionally gets cleanup minutes, is paid more than our starting power forward. It just doesn’t seem right.

We are tired of talking about how much of a horrible shooter Trevor Ariza (give us 2 good “Arizas” why we signed your non-shooting/dribbling @$$) is!!

Frankly, I don’t much feel like going through why Ariza is positively contributing to the team right now, but suffice it to say that:
1) Offense is only half of the game
2) Shooting is not all of offense
3) He’s not that bad of a shooter when given rest. The problem is that he’s being asked to play as the primary option on the team for 40 minutes/game, usually with little/no rest (thanks, NBA schedulers). Of course, I’m sure fans know better than one of the greatest coaches in the game and the best GM in the NBA…

huh?

I like Trevor. I think he’s a big asset to the team.

I just want him to do 3 things:
(a) stop shooting so many threes;
(b) stop dribbling into traffic; and
© work on his FTs

it’s not like I’m asking the guy to grow 9 inches taller. But it would be cool if he did.

Just Clownin'

Hey, you guys are right. I like what Trevor brings to the Rockets, too. I was just overexaggerating his obvious flaws in a sarcastic anti-Rafer rant. I think the last few games, he has gotten the message, except for dribbling in traffic and FTs (but he has never been a good FT shooter).
His gambling defense is a nice compliment to Battier’s position defense, especially when they are together.
Earlier he was the anti-Robert Horry (a horrible shooter who was a gunner – to Horry’s good, but reluctant (traded to the Pistons because he wouldn’t shoot) game.
I think Ariza just needs more time to figure out the major transition from last year’s role to this one.
We don’t need Rafer, but the fans do need someone new to vilify, however.
Go Rox!!

You're just joking right?

Ummmmm, poor dribbling, limited 3’s and mediocre FT% does not make up for average defensive skills. O-fer needs not come back to Houston.

B^2
In Daryl Morey, Rick Smith and Ed Wade we (usually) trust.

hmmm

I need to write something larger about this story…

if only to break out the “Rafer Alston sucks” tag again. I miss using that.
