What reasoning backs up this question, you ask? Nada. This is just my hope that Ishmael Smith plays great team basketball, makes half his shots, and gets some steals. I would love to see him have a 12 / 12 / 4 reb / 4 stl game tonight, and I don't see why he can't.
More after...
Surely the chance to light it up while Brooks and Lowry are on the bench and playing head-to-head against the No. 1 pick this year is motivation enough. John Wall is an ASTOUNDING player, especially for a rookie. But, he turns the ball over an average of 6 times per game and Ish should be looking for those chances to jackmove it and break away, then toss it up to a thunderous trailer like Chase Budinger or Courtney Lee.
Tonight could be the confidence inspiring game that both Ish and Bud need to get their shot flowing smoothly (keep shooting Bud, you'll get it back).
Ish needs to get those double digit assists in every game he starts. Not only because that is a key to winning and securing his spot as a true PG in this league, but also (and of course more importantly) so he can earn the goofy nickname I thought up for him while watching a few of the passes he's made:
Ish "The Dish" Smith
I mean come on! That beautiful pass in the lane to Chuck Wagon in the Minny game?? Glorious and I want more of it. Anyway, I'm effing pumped for the Rockets to school the young Wiz tonight with a final score of 112 - 92.
PS - This is my first FanPost so I'll learn how to do all the cute links and whatnot as time goes on, try not to hate too hard. GO ROCKETS!
