In light of the current situation i'm thinking about next off season already. Anyone think it's a good idea to not resign Battier and perhaps use the extra cash we have to sign Yao to a cheap deal (not sure what he would want) and sign Marc Gasol to a long term deal (I can't see him resigning with Memphis)?  That would give us a good starting C and we could use Yao off the bench with limited minutes like the plan is now. I think that would help our long term future dramatically.
