For anyone who misses Trevor Ariza

Read this http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=197855

Star-divide

I know that a clutchfans person posted that but it is funny as hell. That guy is having a worse season this year than he did with us last year. His numbers are just bad http://espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=2426. He is the Chuck Hayes of SF's......I take that back, Hayes is a better PF Trevor Ariza is a SF. Can you imagine how ugly our offense would look with him starting? I believe he is the reason Aaron Brooks didn't average more assists last year. Worst of all his contract is starting to look worse and worse as the games go by. I praise Daryl Morey for getting rid of this guy when he did. Courtney Lee is playing well and playing smart. I am glad to have him. Ariza would have been jacking up stupid 3's and turning the ball over at will. He might be the worst starting SF in the NBA right now.

Thoughts and comments please......................

Ariza isn't the sole reason AB didn't average more assists last year.

but he is part of it

C’mon man. I know you don’t really like AB but you have to admit many times when he passed to Ariza he would brick the shot.

Agreed

Huge part of Rondo’s success in the assists department is having some amazing scorers next to him.

Funny how Chuck Hayes is scoring quite a bit.

Maybe it’s because of that Lowry guy.

Or maybe because

He worked his ass off this summer trying to get better on that end. I swear some of the guys on here overcredit Lowry as if AB couldn’t do the same shit this season. The guy gets hurt and now they jump on the Lowry bandwagon. We would not be having this conversation if Manu Ginobili wasn’t such an S.O.B. Who’s to say AB wouldn’t have done better had he been able to stay healthy? When he gets healthy and starts killing defenses again all of this talk will cease.

Lowry is a better passer, and he looks to pass more

I don’t think Hayes’ output is because of Lowry necessarily, as I think both Brooks and Lowry are equally capable of finding him if need be. I do think, though, that Lowry has been better for the perimeter guys (Shane, Martin, etc.)

Morey always wins his trades

Like seriously look at all the players we’ve traded away in the DM-era (except Rudy Gay) they all sucked after they left

Rudy Gay was a Caroll Dawson mistake

Morey wins yet again

not only did we get the better player in the trade, but we got a trade exception to help us get another solid player in the rotation

Wow, I didn't even realize that Lee is Top 5 in the league in 3pt %

and my biggest concern of him coming on board was his offensive efficiency.

I'm happy with Lee

but I’m also not someone who is going to do backflips over stats. You can have lower stats and carry a significant impact (See Battier, Shane). I like his youth, athleticism, etc… Houston fans gripe because he was brought in to Houston to test out to see if he could be a number one option, just because he didn’t provide Kobe Bryant numbers people were willing to complain him out of town.

Oh now you happy

with Lee, if i am not mistaken you did not want to trade Ariza, or breakup that team this last summer. I always said Ariza turned the ball over too much, and could not play the two guard. Lee is a better on d then Ariza, has better handles then him, and can create his own shot without turning over like Ariza. And now you are slowly accepting the possibility of trading Brooks. I also said before the year Brooks turns the ball over too much, is too inconsistent, and is too small on defense. Lowry has played well in the starting lineup and until we trade Brooks he should come off the bench. Brooks looks to score first, so if we bring him off the bench he can.

Do you purposely seek me out to try to start things?

Because every post is becoming glaringly obvious that you’re begging for some sort of validation from me. I’m happy with Lee but I wasn’t thrilled with the trade when it happened. I said I’ll wait and see and make the call during the season. Now the season is coming on and I’m seeing his impact come around. It’s nice, but we’ll never know how Ariza would have changed it.

As far as “coming around to trading Brooks” I merely acknowledge that it can happen, I disagree that it should, but I’m not ignorant as to say it won’t.

Battier doesn't shoot 36% from the field and turn the ball over as much.

In Trevor’s case, lower stats are VERY lower stats. I think Shane’s assets are pretty rare, too.

I was saying

I likes em’ both and lower stats are not necessarily signs of a lesser player. Especially when we look at net impact and results. The situations are drastically different but I’d still like Trevor here and I certainly am liking Courtney Lee. Really, it’s a matter of preference and I preferred Ariza, Lee is winning me over and I’m not complaining over all.

Vs. the Heat, we could have put TA on Wade and SB on Lebron

CLee could not slow down DWade at all; of course, no one could
