LAC trades Camby to Portland for Blake, Outlaw

So another domino falls.  Camby helps the Blazers immediately, but what will Blazersedge do without Blake Hate?

Also, LAC look to be a pretty respectable team with these additions.  Camby was surplus to future plans, but Outlaw and Blake can really help the Clippers now.

The ESPN story of LAC/PDX trade

So now maybe they’ll win 35 games instead of 32? It’s hard to fault the Clippers too much on this, since it’s not like they were going to be doing anything, anyways, but Camby was one of their best players this season, one of the few who actually bought into playing winning basketball, and all the Clips got for him was a mediocre point guard and a defensive swingman. Both Blake and Outlaw have a place on championship-quality teams, but one would think they could get more than that.

It’s just such a typical Clippers move.

Well, with the magic of Blake, they may win 36.

Looking at this more closely it appears that the primary consideration for LAC was a cash payment of $1.5 million from Portland. All the contracts are expiring.

That’s all this is. They sold Marcus Camby for cash.

Be glad you’re not Clippers fans, Houstonians.
