And the winner is... Kevin Martin
Multiple sources agree late tonight (early morning?) the Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings have a deal in place to send Tracy McGrady, Carl Landry, and Joey Dorsey to Sacramento in exchange for Kevin Martin, Kenny Thomas, Sergio Rodriguez, and Hilton Armstrong.
The deal was first reported by Marc Stein of ESPN, and then quickly corroborated by Sam Amick of the Sacramento Bee and Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

The Houston Rockets, in an abrupt late twist to their long-running efforts to trade Tracy McGrady, have reached an agreement in principal with the Sacramento Kings to acquire coveted guard Kevin Martin, ESPN.com has learned.
Martin was pulled from the second half of the Kings' game Wednesday night at Golden State in anticipation of the trade, sources said.
Although the details of the complete construction of the trade could not immediately be confirmed, sources said that it's possible that the deal could be expanded into a three-way trade that lands Rockets guard Tracy McGrady with the New York Knicks before Thursday's 3 p.m. trading deadline.
One source with knowledge of the talks told ESPN.com that McGrady will either end up with the Kings or the Knicks by the deadline to bring Martin to Houston after Sacramento refused trade interest in the high-scoring guard for weeks.

LOSING LANDRY
we lose landry thou… so i don’t now about this trade sigh
Martin and Brooks
If Martin couldn’t work w/a ball dominating shoot-first PG in Evans…
anybody know kevin martin's current contract?
it would help to assess the deal a little better
Its so damn hot... milk was a bad choice
not including this year
he has 3 years and 36 million left on his contract i think
This is not cool to me
I even think the NY trade was better. Martin is injury prone and losing Landry sucks. Awwwww Landry…. Maybe it was our system? lol, im searching. Go Roxs
on ESPN it says Landry's contract is expiring this year
so maybe that is why Rox pulled the trigger? Guess they figured that they wouldn’t be able to pay him what other teams will pay, so trade him now and get something for it? Still trying to figure this one out. We shoulda given them Scola instead.
Now what about Martin? Is he really a player that can create his own shot? shoot the 3 well? i havent seen him play really.
really?
i’m pretty sure landry still has one more year after this
I think he has an option
And he is totally gonna opt out. He is a FA though this summer. Why would he choose to get paid less?
Rox still have no big man
they will still die in the paint.
Hill is probably still in play according to this
This is from Fox Houston. This deal doesnt seem like its quite done.

I dont like it
Now we have given up Ron Artest (serious contender for defensive player of the year), Tracy McGrady (looked healthy to me in his 7-minutes per game) and Carl Landry (6th man of the year, borderline superstar) for two guys who play the same position. If this were football and we could get Martin on the court for offense and Ariza for defense, this might almost make sense. I wish we could go back to the old team before Morey screwed it up — back to Artest, Tmac and Landry. I like Martin but he is not worth this much.
Martin is a SG, Ariza is a SF. And Ron Artest is no longer a contender for DPOY (he’s lost enough speed that he can no longer guard SGs, though he is still valuable against LeBron). It doesn’t matter if McGrady is healthy, he isn’t any good anymore. And he wasn’t healthy. Every doctor who does the procedure and every player who has undergone it all say the same thing – you will feel fine, but you are not. If you play on it, you will end your career. You need to wait before playing. And Carl Landry is a great complementary player, not a borderline superstar. He can’t rebound. Thats kind of a big deal for a PF.
Trust me, Morey knows more about basketball than you do.

huh?
McGrady looked healthy to you?
He couldn’t get across half-court on offense.
He couldn’t move side-to-side on defense.
He looked about 10 lbs heavier.
What exactly looked healthy? (Other than his appetite?)
Wow
Man, I think we’re overrating our old guys. For the fire and intensity that Artest brought the Rockets, he tended to hog the ball, and would shoot some pretty bad balls for the guys (oh, and don’t forget about the Laker series). T-Mac lost 2 steps out there this season…oh well, he’s New York’s problem now. And as much as we love Landry, if he was SO GOOD wouldn’t Luis Scola or Chuck Hayes be on the bench and Landry start games?
Still, getting Martin, and now Jordan Hill are two nice pickups. Of course, we have the “Brown Bag gang” now in Bryan Cook, Kenny Thomas, Hilton Armstrong and Jared Jeffries.
B^2
In Daryl Morey, Rick Smith and Ed Wade we (usually) trust.
