Ariza, Lowry, Battier

How long are they out? These are the injuries:
Ariza- hip flexor
Lowry- sprained ankle
Battier- flu-like symptoms

Lowry's been out for a week or two? It feels like eternity but I'm not 100% sure. Ariza? Battier?

I really wanna know how long they're out because of the playoffs. Some of you might not think the Rockets are going to make it because of their performances the past two months, but I know the Rockets can pull it out. The Rockets have a pretty winnable schedule in March. While the Trail Blazers, Grizzlies, and Hornets are a lot more spotty. Check out their schedules and gimme a response. Answer how long Ariza, Lowry, and Battier are out though ASAP

I dont know how long they are out

/But I doubt they make the playoffs. Which is cool. Why would you want them to? If we did, we would be out in the first round. I just want them to get better and get a good pick. Anything else would be a bonus.

The draft doesn't look that promising

unless you get a top 3 pick…

If you want them to get better then you should be rooting we make the playoffs so that the new guys can get the experience and more games playing together

I dont agree

If we go in the Lottery the lowest we could pick is 14 with the highest realistically being 10. If we make the playoffs and exit in the 1st round than we will be drafting behind all the East teams that make the playoffs but have a worse record than us. In that case, we could end up with the 17th or 18th pick. There is a big difference between the 10th and the 18th pick especially this season when there are many top 10/12 big guys. With the 12th pick we could end up with Cole Aldrich, Greg Monroe, Patrick Patterson, or Stanley Robinson among others. All of them bring a lot more to this team than someone we would get at 17 like Ekpe Udoh, Soloman Alabi, or Larry Sanders.

All that being said, Im not rooting for the Rockets to tank. Of course I would love to see us make the Playoffs and knock somebody out, but I think this team will be better next season with a higher draft pick as opposed to making the playoffs and being pushed down in the draft due to the suckiness of the East.

Thats my point

I dont think this team would get any better if they did go to the playoffs. We would probably play 5 extra games so that point is eroneous. Cole Aldrich would give us a monster defensive presence when Yao is on the bench or if he gets hurt again. We need a big man before this team will do anything. Hopefully, Jordan Hill can gives us 12-14 pts. off the bench next year. There is no way this team misses the playoofs with Yao in the line up and we all know that. Next Year, Yao will be back. If Martin can play like this next year then the Rockets will be the 2nd team in the West for sure. Landry probably makes us better right now, but Martin makes us way way better in the future. Morey knew this when he made the deal. Next year should be our run.

One reason

upsetting the Lakers would make my year.

It would also draw some FA to Houston, that is if we have enough money after resigning who we have.

We Wont

The only way we sign someone over the MLE, is a sign and trade.

Being the 8th seed and being the 10th doesn’t make much of a difference come draft night. We’re 4 games off the last slot but the sked ahead is kinda light sp all is not lost. I’d say lets go for the play-offs!

Exactly, unless you’re tanking hard there not a whole lot of difference between barely making the playoffs and barely making the lottery.

by OremLK on Mar 1, 2010 3:08 AM CST up reply actions

And the Rockets aren't in a position to tank

There’s just too much space between them and the next lottery team (Clippers, last time I checked).

New Orleans

has to pull out some miracle games to make it into the playoffs. They have the hardest schedule facing them compared to the Rockets, Blazers, and Grizzlies.

Anyone think the Spurs will drop out?

by T-Mackin on Mar 1, 2010 6:41 PM CST up reply actions

Plus

Don’t we still have a lot of eastern conference games left?

You think that would be a good thing...

But the Rockets are 7-12 against the East. Answering your question though, we have 10 games vs the East after tonight including 2 vs.Boston and 2 vs. Washington.

Go for Playoffs

The owner needs to make some of his money back on what he’s paying next season. Dont take Mr. Alexander’s ownership for granted. As long as we win, he’ll keep the product on the court competitive.

If the Rockets make the playoffs Id be happy

But I wouldnt be estatic. We wont beat the Lakers without an inside game. Id rather just get the young guys playing time right now. Go out this off season and sign Jermaine O Neal for the MLE or even lower and give it a shot next year. Alot of people might say he has bad knees and all but still. He is exactly what we need and if we can get him cheap, he could compliment Yao nicely.
