simple economics
In two years, Iggy’s contract is going to be a bigger albatross than McGrady’s is to us this year. He’s not a franchise player, but he’ll be making more money than the salary cap will allow (considering there will be a new CBA and a much lower cap very soon).
I like Iggy, but have you seen his contract? Yikes.

yea i think its 4 years for 50 mil +.
good news is is that dalembert’s is expiring i think so that opens up 10 million. i think most people underrate iguodala. you may think that he is not a good shooter. but he is taking a lot more 3’s than he should be because philly has no 3 pt shooters. he has good handles and finishes at the bucket like LBJ or d-wade can. his contract is the risk. if he fits well and gives us that scoring wing that we need. i dont mind taking the ginormous contract. problem is is that we don’t know whether or not he will fit in.
i guess doing a scola and tmac for haywood and butler sounds like a good deal to me. haywood is the big guy we need. hes strong, great defender and rebounder, and has a decent post game. plus he should only be in his mid 20’s. if butler has 4 or 5 more years left in him. fine, ill take that, but i dont know if he does or not. jason said that we would probly let haywood take a good offer in off-season. why would we not resign him? he doesn’t force shots, he would be an excellent complement off the bench to yao and when we play against a team with two 7 footers (ex: memphis, LA, Cle,etc) we can have them both on the court and match up well. but if butler doesnt fit it, that is ok because he only has one year left on his contract. pick your risk
1. iggy’s ability to fit in with us (big contract too)
2. butler’s age.

Haywood makes us better this season and really gives us a defensive presence.
Butler hasn’t been doing too well this year and is more injury riddled.
It really is a toss up between the two except we might have to give up Scola to Washington

nah
I am now convinced the best thing we can do is NOTHING.
(Other than trade Brian Cook’s expiring deal.)

If we dont make a move know we wont have the space to make a deal in the offseason. we need to try to get another young talent in here if we can. Beacause lets be honest we wont be able to get any of the bigname FA and if we dont move Tmac we wont get anything for him.. Lets get somthing done soon!!!

Morey's trying his best but teams are not biting on just the T-Mac deal.
Weighing whether it’s worth it to lose one of our guys and then deciding who he/they will be.
