Joey Dorsey Should be the starting center
I think Joey Dorsey should be the starting center for the rockets he rebounds defends and when joey is in the game The Rockets seem to rebound better and not give up that many offensive rebounds. Joey Dorsey is a monster and should be the starting center and Joey Dorsey and Carl Landry have so much chemistry

i can see your point about joey starting over chuck.
joey and chuck are both great post defenders and joey is obviously the better rebounder. they both hustle for loose balls and are monsters on the offensive boards. i guess it would be an interesting move but i dont see adelman making it. though i can see adelman giving joey more minutes than chuck on Tuesday against the heat. we are going to need a shot blocker like joey in there to try and “contain” d-wade. chuck usually only gets about 20 minutes a game and joey so far is getting around 20 too so until joey just has an incredible game offensively and defensively (game against memphis was good, but not great), chuck is the starter.

I see the point too
But until Dorsey can make the passes that the Chuck-Wagon makes, until he can cut the fouls down consistenly and until he shows that he can rebound against the ‘big boys’ out there, I keep #44 at C. There’s nothing against Joey at all. I think he’s got the makings of a solid NBA big man. However, there is a reason that Chuck Hayes has started every game at the center spot this season, and its not because he’s holding Rick Adelman’s family for ransom.
Its a rite of passage. Chuck had to wait behind the ageless Juwon Howard before he got to start as a 2nd year player.

In Daryl Morey, Rick Smith and Ed Wade we (usually) trust.

yeah
I think Joey Dorsey will eventually be the Rockets starting center unless the Rockets trade for another center Joey Dorsey is a monster

I'm thinking we end up seeing a lot more minute sharing with Dorsey/Hayes
The Dorsey Landry combo is pure hell on the offensive glass.
Dorsey is basically a rookie, so those fouls will be called, whether he committed them or not.
Significant gravitas shortfall expected in 2010.

In Chuck's Defense...
1. He’s our best high post passer
2. By FAR our best outlet passer (underrated, but you’d lose a few points a game if you lost that, especially since Joey spends about a second finding the point guard after rebounds sometimes)
3. He’s our best one on one post defender (I think everyone knows this, but Dorsey still has a lot of issues with leaving his feet trying to make a big play which usually ends up as two points to the other team)
4. Imo, our best positional defender. I rarely see him out of position on defense, and he can defend 1-5 (not universally, but he is a very versatile one on one defender which comes in handy on an ‘off the ball pick’ kind of team)
Dorsey shows so much athleticism and potential, and that is always more romantic than an understated, statistically mediocre, nonoffensive veteran. But I honestly believe that Dorsey may very well never get to the point of contributing to wins as much as Hayes has been doing for the last 4 years.
PS: This is not a knock on Joey. I think he’ll become a solid defensive player, a great rebounder, and a good finisher around the rim and will be an invaluable asset to our (or whatever) team he ends up playing for. I just think that to say its a forgone conclusion that he is (or even, definitely will be) better than Chuck is easy to say until you look at Chuck’s entire game.

Agreed - but...
Does everyone remember when the Rox were the defense minded team? I thought Adelman was trying to shed that image – yet we have two starters who aren’t OFFENSIVE minded players in Battier and Chuckwagon.
I still think Battier needs to go.
