A Dreamshake First - A recap while a game is in progress! Rockets lose big to Heat, 99-66
Your recap: The Houston Rockets started their All Star Break time of rest and recuperation a day early in Miami. Unfortunately there was a game scheduled that night.
In Depth Recap: Both teams started out in a rock fight. Miami switched to basketball, Houston didn't.
Highlights:
Almost everything after the 2nd quarter for Heat fans.
The Rockets were not devoured by rats, or hit by an asteroid.
We've been assured the "BattStache" is going away.

Nah - just mild disgust.
If this keeps up after the ASB? Panic away!
Significant gravitas shortfall expected in 2010.
But I have my "Bring Yao Back Nao" poster ready to voice my displeasure

Gladly.
I’ll just copy/paste a couple dozen OMGWTFs and I’ll be right as rain.

Thank you, Rockets, for such a wonderful birthday present.
The Rockets were not devoured by rats, or hit by an asteroid.
Much though they deserve to be, after a stinker like this.
The less said about this game, the better
The Heat stopped Aaron and Carl; the rest of the Rockets did not show up. At least with Trevor around, you’ll know he’ll try or at least give up fodder to get upset at him. Didn’t know I would miss him so
Will this push the hand of DM to do some sort of trade? Or will we continue to try to rev up a dead engine?
at least we tied them in the 3rd
baby steps people

I also don't think this changes anything
We are not trading T-Mac for garbage so most likely there won’t be a trade

Funny thing is
This is how I expected a lot of our games to go before the season started, now that I know they can do better I’m sure the next game will be different

Can we trade coaches then?
Role players. Limited skill sets. Coach has only one game plan. I don’t mind the loss as much as the lack of spirit of the team.
No leadership. No fire. No pride.
We have a better record than Miami but we let them push us around without giving a fight or even a hard foul. It can break the morale of young players and make losing a habit. I don’t like it and that’s why I said before, DM lost our window of opportunity to keep being competitive by not making a trade earlier.
yahoo sports is reporting we are in the discussion stages of a complicated three-team trade
with NY and Washington where we get Butler and Haywood and the Wiz get Harrington plus other players.
Barely a blurb… but it’ll be interesting to see what, if anything, comes of it…

The Houston Rockets are in the discussion stages of a complicated, three-team trade that would send Tracy McGrady(notes) to the New York Knicks, sources told Yahoo! Sports.
The centerpieces of the trade would include the Washington Wizards shipping forward Caron Butler(notes) and center Brendan Haywood(notes) to the Rockets. The Knicks would send Al Harrington(notes) to the Wizards. For the Wizards’ part, they would still need another player, as well as a draft pick and cash to make this a workable scenario, sources said.
Other players and contracts would still need to be agreed upon for a deal to come together, but there is a framework to the discussions.
The Rockets have been peddling McGrady’s expiring contract of $23 million since exiling him in late December.
Out of the wreckage...
Couple of things looked promising.
Taylor was able to get to the rim almost at will. Had problems finishing, but he attacked, and had a nice drop pass to Cook. Taylor needs to get some steady minutes so we can see if he’ll be useful next yr.
I can see what people like about Temple. Nice court vision, moves the ball, fights on defense. Can’t shoot, but looks like a very nice role player who is a Battier Lite.(And I’d hire a shooting coach to work w/him all summer.)
I’ve come around to the Iggy trade just in time for it to be taken off the table.
My imaginary deals would be the only-fan-GM kind.
First,Ariza,Cook,Dorsey to Clippers for Camby,Thorton and the Minn pick. The Minn pick is reasonably protected thru 2013,so it’s not something the Clips will be using in the next yr or two. Ariza is local kid, hugely popular in LA and would solidify their starting lineup.
Second,Thorton, cash to Memphis for their TPE and the Lakers 2010 First.
Finally,McGrady and two of the three Firsts(the Minn, the Lakers or their own) for iggy and Dalembert.
Team could start Brooks,Iggy,Battier,Scola,Dalembert and second unit of Lowry,Budinger,Temple/Taylor,Landry,Camby.
Hmm..
It is weird because the Heat thumped us the first time we played. I guess they just plug up the middle.
I love AB’s game, but I think he needs to work on getting to the basket. It is tough to watch sometimes, and I know it was a blowout, but there was times he was just forcing it inside and it just didnt matter. Was kinda depressing.
