Instead of Iggy or $toudemire, WHY NOT MONTA (ME8)

I'm Pretty sure he doesn't want to be there like capt. Jack.

i don't care for who except, AARON, BUD, OR CARL-UNTOUCHABLE.

NEW STARTING 5

AB

MONTA

CHASE

CARL

CHUCK-OR DORSEY

With J.T. off the bench WITH LOWRY, & ANDERSON

O YEAH, if  they are going to trade or get rid of T-MAC, shakes head,  WHY NOT GIVE UP YAO ALSO. LET HIM WALK OR TRADE HIM TOO, cap room get a good free agent, OR Free agents, WITH YAO AND TRACY off the team. With him back he will just slow everyone else down.  That's 40 MILL. THAT WE COULD BE USING FOR OTHER PLAYERS.

AND FOR COACH RICK (UH WE ARE PLAYING A GAME, RIGHT NOW) OH OKAY

JUST PLAY T-Mac       Who cares what u think.

Monta Ellis is very inefficient. I’m not a big fan of his game. If we’re trading with Golden State, I’d rather have Maggette and one of their rookies.

Actually

I like Monta. He’s asked to shoot a lot in Golden State, and has no reigns of any kind. He’s the kind of guy who would fit very well in Houston, an offense consisting of organized chaos, not just chaos.

Wow

Maggette over Monta Ellis. Also, Monta Ellis has a +20 eff rating so I dont see where you get that. Ellis is young too.

CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL

As for Monta: He’s just a chucker on a bad team that emphasizes offense to an insane degree and so inflates everyone’s stats.
And how do you propose we move Yao. Management’s not trading him, I doubt management could trade him as he is injured, and he’s sticking around another year.
I understand you probably want to jump in the 2010 pyrite sweepstakes, but really, get over it. We’re not getting Lebron or Wade.

uhhhh

Monta might be the most overrated player in the NBA.

by grungedave on Feb 9, 2010 11:59 PM CST reply actions

I dont agree with that

He shoots 47% for his career. He averages 26 points, 5 assits, and 5 rebs. Also, he is only 23 or 24.

by darwithabar on Feb 13, 2010 9:20 PM CST up reply actions

IN RESPONSE FOR THE LEBRON OR WADE THING

I dont care for them at all. the rockets getting them is slim to none. unless they like the way we are playing without superstars.(THE HUSTLE) That might be a reason why they would come over, but i don’t see it.
I Would like Wade if we could get him,but thats a longshot
Maggette is not consistent and is overpaid. the only other warrior i would like is Azabuke
FOR YAO TRADE HIM WHEN HE gets healthy, but not so quick, see if he fits with this style if not then trade him at the deadline.
when he comes back it might end up like the suns situation when they had shaq. slowed everything down.

grrrrr

do NOT ever again compare Yao to the FatAss (Shaq).

by grungedave on Feb 10, 2010 9:57 AM CST up reply actions

You're crazy dude

As much as you hate Shaq, if Yao played as well as Shaq ever did in his prime then we would have made it out the first round long before last year.

by clutchcitywillreturn on Feb 10, 2010 12:20 PM CST up reply actions

It was really more to defend Yao than attack Shaq

I’m not a Shaq hater like Dave. I do think he’s going to go down in history as a guy who did less with more and he still strolls into the HOF and deservedly so.

If you look at the Shaq pairings, though, it’s interesting – prime Penny (people don’t realize how great he was before he broke down), prime Kobe, Wade (Shaq talked his way out of town when Wade looked broken), Nash and Amare, LeBron. I’d like to think Yao might have done some damage teamed with those guys but you can’t say Shaq hasn’t known how to pick teamates.

Significant gravitas shortfall expected in 2010.

by Xiane on Feb 11, 2010 12:20 AM CST up reply actions

I understand that he had good teammates but...

13 seasons where he averaged 20 pts and 10 rebs vs. 2 seasons for Yao, almost 3 times as many blocked shots as Yao, no major career threatening injuries, 4 rings. I could keep going but I would have to assume you get the point. There is no comparison between the two. To your Penny argument… take those four years he played in Orlando and compare that with any of the best four years of Yao (he played with T-mac who is definitely comparable if not better). Shaq beat him in every statistical category and had a finals appearance. Come on…

by clutchcitywillreturn on Feb 11, 2010 2:24 PM CST up reply actions

I wasn't saying they had the same career.

But Shaq has never been without another top player on his team. Never. Look at those Penny years again.

GOSH

u must be 1 of those people who just go off of numbers and dont understand where people actually fit. Monta is overrated. his numbers are inflated by the system he is in. he is to me another jason terry. good scorer and plays with energy. we have that already. we need a wing that can defend and score well and a center that blocks shots

by batman713 on Feb 10, 2010 12:38 PM CST reply actions

Yao won't be traded

3LAYTHR33.

I kinda agree with you about Yao slowing the team down. The reason why the Rox will never trade him is that the Rox are making so much $$$ from China, so it is a business reason why they would never do it.

by inquisitiveman on Feb 10, 2010 12:57 PM CST reply actions

so...

just cuz he slows them down doesnt make the rockets a worse team. he actually makes us better. U still cant win a championship without some kind of post presents offensivley or defensively

by batman713 on Feb 10, 2010 1:05 PM CST up reply actions

Yao definitely makes this team better

we have 4s that run the court very well and who can finish around the basket. What we don’t have right now is someone to give the ball to when the Rockets can’t buy a basket. Yao’s gonna bring stability to this team which it desperately needs!

by jroberts5 on Feb 10, 2010 2:09 PM CST up reply actions

true

i think Yao should come off the bench and not play too many minutes. Lets keep this a running team and there will be times when the Rox can’t buy a basket. That is when Yao comes in and we slow it down. We need to effectively use his strengths. When we want to run, we need to keep him on the bench and when we need to slow it down, that is when he should come in. I think playing a balanced game like this will serve the Rox well in the playoffs since they could face teams that play either style, thus no problems with matchups.

by inquisitiveman on Feb 10, 2010 10:02 PM CST up reply actions

yeah i kinda agree with that

but that means he cant be paid too much for that kinda role.

by 3LAYTHR33 on Feb 11, 2010 12:11 AM CST up reply actions

I don’t think there’s any chance he comes off the bench when he’s healthy. None whatsoever. However, I could definitely see his minutes being very reduced, maybe even into the 20-25 range during the regular season. Which is all that really matters.

by OremLK on Feb 11, 2010 3:29 AM CST up reply actions

he probably will make them better

but, you never know
if they play the same way they do now. uptempo
he would be out of breath real fast.
we have a wing but they are putting him at sg not sf
thats why you need monta at shooting guard and put either chase or ariza at small forward.
the floor would be spread out chase and brooks for threes and monta for everywhere else.
then you got carl or dorsey or scola picking up those easy putbacks.

by 3LAYTHR33 on Feb 10, 2010 2:57 PM CST reply actions

no sir

yao just makes the outlet pass for the fast break…Monta cant defend SG’s but i would like 2 see Chase at the 2 guard and start Ariza at the 3 and bring Battier off the bench to giv the second unit a good wing defender

by batman713 on Feb 10, 2010 3:31 PM CST up reply actions

You don't need five people to run a fast break.

Showtime Lakers, after all.

I, personally, am a one man fast break.
