Game 59: Raps @ Rox
Toronto Raptors at Houston Rockets, Mar 1, 2010 7:30 PM CST
Trevor's a GTD, Lowry's still injured, Battier will presumably play. Maybe the defense will be un-putrid tonight. Calderon's out for Toronto.

what’s up with all the empty seats behind the teams benches??

Monday night game - Nobody in Houston cares about the Raptors - People arrive late.
It’s too bad you can’t really see the upper bowl – usually full and loud. It’s the pricey seats that are often empty.
Significant gravitas shortfall expected in 2010.
The upper bowl has the best seats in the house
i hate sitting in the lower bowl, fans down there are dead

Toronto on a back to back, without three key starters; hey, sounds like us vs. utah the other night
result so far is similar, blow-out but we need to keep the pressure. A lot depends on RA’s rotation
I thought it was just Bosh and Calderon
who’s the third?

unfortunately Spurs won and Blazers are up 7 with 30 seconds to go.
So, no ground gained on the final playoff slots.

Gah.
Spurs will never do us any favors, and you can’t rely on Memphis, obviously. You’d think with Gasol and Randolph they could beat Portland (and I like Portland by the way – nothing personal, I just want a playoff spot).
Significant gravitas shortfall expected in 2010.
but the thing is
they played Memphis and NO
so it’s pretty much the lesser of two evils between those teams with who wins i suppose

Probably a spin move with the ball at the waist is a bad idea for a center.

Hill
Liked the rebound Hill got where he extended and got the ball when it was a feet away from him. It’s been a while since the Rockets who could get rebounds that weren’t in their space.
I shouldn't type while watching
Meant to write:
It’s been a while since the Rockets had a big….
I really want to see the Bulldog teamed w/Temple and Bud.
Wow, why did NY hate Hill?
I’m not seeing it. Granted it’s a entire garbage quarter, but still.
Significant gravitas shortfall expected in 2010.
He is definitely incredibly raw.
He’s made some mental mistakes and he’s not showing as much toughness in the low post as I would like to see from a guy with his frame. But I like what I’ve seen in terms of his tools and potential, and I think he could develop into something special.
I wonder if the Rockets are considering another PF platoon
with “crafty” Scola and “athletic” Hill?
Significant gravitas shortfall expected in 2010.
i think his strength besides the post is the mid-range jumper.
he has been hitting that pretty well. the reason people compare him to bosh is for a couple reasons but the main one besides his potential and what not is his mid-range jumper. besides dirk, bosh has the best mid range jumper for a PF in the league. if hill can consistently make that 16, 17 foot jump shot, he is in great shape. when you hit a shot from that far, you have got some touch, which will carry over to the post game. bosh is relentless on the boards and so far from what ive seen hill is putting some good hustle into rebounding.

very true
or you could play Temple at the 1 and Brooks at the 2. Temple would really bother shorter guards, and obviously Brooks could us his speed and take the bigger-man off the dribble. Man we have a dangerous backcourt.

In D-League...
Temple played both SG and SF.
T-Mac trade got the Rockets some $800,000 under Lux Tax,more than enough room to sign Temple,or any other prorated min player, thru rest of season.
guaranteed rest of season?
do they have the salary space to not go over the tax? conroy could get a second look if they don’t.
We actually went under with the trade.

Will everyone please hop off the Bosh bandwagon? We’re not getting him. Honestly, you guys seriously belive in the strangest things.
yea i have to agree.
if wade does not go to chi town bosh is definitely going there. even without bosh they are a good team. bosh has to be drawn there by derrick rose. not by a scoring point guard and a shooting guard who dominate the shots taken by the rockets. if not chicago, i can see the knicks spending a crap load of money on him and he accepting it. i can’t think of anyone else that we need really. i would say joe johnson, but we have martin now. of course it is still possible for a sign-and-trade so i have no idea what our plans are.

Keep in mind that Derrick Rose is just as much of a score-first point guard as Brooks and he may actually dominate the ball even more.
rose can have 10 assists a bit easier than aaron can.
i agree that he does dominate the amount of shots taken by chicago, but we have 2 guys dominating the shots taken in each possesion. and when yao comes back(and assuming scola does) we have 4 first option players (scola can be a first, better second option though). unless bosh is willing to play team ball and he understands that he has the best center in the game and two of the best guards on the team, then he would fit in.(this is of course we sign and trade, we have 0 cap space open to us.)
