So, uh, no one watched?

Scola played okay. Not a bad night for him.

SCOLA!!!!!

The Rockets will everything they can get from Luis from now onwards if they were to avoid from missing the play offs this season (please check out my post on Luis). If he can replicate a performance like this, then why not? Apart from this, some quality support from the rest of the Rockets cast will not harm their chances.

id say the unsung hero of this game was ariza.

yes he did only have 12 points on 5-11 shooting, but he had 10 boards, 7 assists, and 2 steals. he has been quietly been putting up these numbers besides scoring with not many other people noticing.

Monster game for Scola... but I'm still concerned.

The bench combined for a whopping 22 points. That’s right; Scola put up twice as many points as the entire Rockets bench.

This would not be so easily overlooked if the Rockets had lost tonight, I promise you. I feel it’s a serious concern.

I don't think it's a concern.

We’ve only had 2 games with Lowry and Ariza back, and the bench scored 38 of our 96 points against the Wizards. Tonight, our starters were terrific offensively, thus the bench didn’t see as many minutes. Of the three guys who did see significant minutes, two of them are defensively minded players (Battier and Lowry) and they both performed admirably.

If you want to worry about something, worry about us letting the Nets shoot 54% from the field.

We got separation when RA played our defensive five--

Lowry, Brooks, Shane, Trevor and Scola.

The weak defense of the Brooks-Martin combination continues to be a concern. But most likely Martin will not become a better defender overnight but next season. Lowry definitely needs to be in when it’s crunch time. He can partner either with Brooks or Martin.

The volume shooting Ariza used to do has been taken up by Martin and Scola. So Ariza looked good in this game. All he needs to do is be realistic with the kind of shots he should be taking. I hope he doesn’t get dissatisfied with his reduced offensive production. He should spend the summer practising his shots and dribbling.

I agree about Ariza

It seems Martin and others have picked up some of the shooting so the shots Ariza’s taking seem to be much better. I’m also hoping he doesn’t get upset because with the return of Yao, he’s gonna have less of an offensive role, but we need him to get those steals and run on the break and try to anchor the D.

I’m also excited about Hill. Even though Martin fills a big void for this team, Landry was super important to our chemistry and rotation and without him the team just plunges off a cliff with the second team. Now that Hill and Lowry have stepped up on that second unit, it seems to be working a little better. We’ll see how it goes against some real competition though pretty soon…
