Ridiculous Upside's Temple Signing Story
Sacramento Kings (aka Rockets West) sign Garrett Temple to a 10 day contract. I honestly thought he'd sign for the rest of the year. The Rockets obviously wanted more flexibility and brought up Will Conroy from Rio Grande for another 10-day stint.

Hmmm -
We’d also like a take out order of Yao Ming, healthy, please.
SACTOWN ROYALTY - Try our thick creamy shakes!
We've been waiting on that one.
It’s still out of stock. Sorry.
Significant gravitas shortfall expected in 2010.
this is a mistake.
conroy can play, he is probably the best passing PG nobody has seen, but that is about it. temple gets to the basket easier, they both shoot shoot the ball pretty well and temple has better defense. it must have been money issues. im pissed to see temple go.

In terms of their performance in the D-league, Conroy is a considerably better shooter, scorer, passer and rebounder. I think we’re all getting carried away here. Temple was able to drive to the basket pretty well in a couple of low defense games (Toronto, Utah, Milwaukee) .
Either guy will be our #3 point guard behind Broos and Lowry, who are both pretty young themselves. They’re both sub-par NBA players right now and their chances long term are moot since we’d only be signing them for the rest of the season.
OR maybe the strategy right now is to keep signing as many 10- day contracts as possible to buy time until lowry returns.
so we dont waste money on a 1 year contract when lowry is healthy. maybe, after all this could be the right move to let temple go.

Don't like for 2 reasons
One,I thought Temple would be a decent bench player who’d contribute every now and then.
Second this looks to be all about saving a few dollars. If the Rockets didn’t think Temple had a future w/the team, fine. If they’re worried about Lowry’s ankle and want a true PG,fine. But when they trot out the roster flexability line,I call BS.
After the Trade the Rockets are some $800,000 under Lux Tax. A pro-rated rookie min for rest of season is less than $250,000. Keeping Temple wouldn’t preclude the Rockets from waiving him-or Armstrong-signing a need player, waiving him and then signing another all while staying under Lux Tax.
If the Rockets don’t sign Conroy for rest of season, and don’t sign anyone else,we’ll know it’s to save money. I’m even fine w/the Rockets doing that,I just hate when the team lies to us.
And why on earth did Sac sign him? They don’t have enough minutes for Udrih,Evans,Udoka,Greene,Garcia,Casspi as it is. It’s not like Sac wasn’t slashing expenses before and now they’re spending a few thou on a player that will rarely see the court? Unless he’s Dorsey’s wingman-or his keeper-I wonder if some backdoor deal was made w/Hou. Sac signs him to keep him away from other teams while Conroy covers for Lowry’s abscence. Then when Conroy’s 10-day is up,Sac doesn’t renew Temple and he signs w/Hou for yr. And Morey sends some intern w/instructions to drop some cash at Maloof’s casino to pay for him ;) Yeah,I know, too contrived to be true.
Still cannot see why Sac signed him-unless they see him as Udoka’s replacement next yr.
I think they want to see what a two combo guard set looks like?
Some people don’t think Evan’s is a “true” PG. If so, that means they have 1 PG, right? Maybe another is a good idea.
Or they’re really keen on anything that has that special “Air de la Fusee Rouge” about it?
Or maybe they were as impressed with Temple as I was and thought he was an NBA player for practically free. It never hurts to stockpile assets, as Morey has shown. OR someone is hurt in Sac?
I don’t see it hurting Evans minutes at all. Greene, Garcia and Casspi are fighting for minutes, I guess. Udoka may be an odd man out, or maybe they want to run defensive sets with him and Temple off the bench?

Hmmmm, always need a bench player, never know when you are going to have have hurt players
need to be deep on the bench, if they want to play the playoffs gotta think ahead, not bringing bad vibes but reinjury could happen. I thought he was a good back up for Lowry or to rest Brooks.
Maybe it was part of the Kevin Martin deal, just unspoken to the media
Morey said that we wouldn’t sign Temple after the second 10 day contract so the kings could sign him, or he said he’d give them a hot tip on a great play that was cheap…….. what it’s possible right…..? lol
Shane it's time to shave that creepy 'stash
Both Temple and Conroy suck!
End of story!
