Now don't ban hammer me or anything but I have yet to totally buy into Morey is god religious fervor. He is definitely good, finding Landry, Brooks, Bud, etc...and to this date amassing a bunch of good bargaining chips for this summer. But I really feel his true divinity will be tested on what the team looks like in October or at least by the trade deadline next year and the team's record. I think we need to get to the Western Finals.
But we haven't yet had the success a god should bring us, granted a lot of it was due to TMac and Yao's injuries and TMac not having the sheer desire to win in the clutch, so I am waiting patiently, hair shirt ready to go.
But from what I saw in the first half of the game tonight we know Morey picked the right SF this past summer:
Ron Artest shot just 4 of 13 and the Lakers’ bench combined for just 18 points.
Artest can still play great D but his offensive decision making is pretty terrible. He still thinks he can shoot from the 3 pointer well. I just don't get that.
So we got Ariza and they got Artest. Big deal? Huge in the long run. We got a better, younger player, who when he is not asked to be the go to scorer he can really be a great asset to our team.
Nice job Morey!
