And the end of the day, all i want are more titles for the Rockets. I have heard that getting a power forward with our 14th pick, and a backup for Yao is what we need most. I do not agree. If we stay at 14 and dont move up, the player we get will not be able to come right in and contribute. We already have Jordan Hill who is 6'10, has a good shooting touch, a high basketball iq, some good post up moves, and most important a desire to get better and learn. Check out some of Hill's highlights with the Rockets, after this highlight goes off scroll to the bottom of the same page to see them all
When we made the trade with the Knicks they insisted we take Jeffries, and we insisited on getting Hill. Morey liked Hill when the Knicks drafted him high a few years ago. So i can't see us drafting another power forward unless its part of a trade, or Hill or Scola get traded. And if this happens then hopefully we got Bosh, and whoever backs him up will not get any minutes anyway.
I am no physician, and cant say if Yao will be back healthy and dominant again next year, but reports say his recovery from his injury is on schedule . So with him back, and Andersen and Hayes, we are okay at the center. Andersen was inconsistent, and committed too many bad fouls, and Hayes just is what he is. To Andersens defense he is a 7 footer, with good shooting range, and good post up moves. Many foreign players need more then a year to get used to the NBA game. I have heard trade for Thabeet or for Przybilla. Pryzbilla is just comming off two major knee injuries this year, so with all the injuries to Yao and Tmac, this would not be wise. Thabeet has shown nothing while with the Grizz, and is a project that will take several years, with him possibly ended another Kelvin Cato. With our mid level exception, and our other exception which equals half our mid level exception, signing a free agent, or a trade for a veteran is our best hope for next year.
