When I first saw that the Cavs made an offer to Lowry, my heart dropped like I was on a 400 foot roller coaster. My first thought was why would the Cavaliers offer this much money if they have Mo Williams as their starting PG. Maybe they want to move Lowry to SG as that is a nice fit for his style of play. I can understand why Daryl and company wouldn't want to pay Lowry about 6 million a year (more than 4 more times as much money as AB will be making this year), but if they choose not to re-sign him, who would they acquire to be their backup point-guard? Other than the Lakers and the Celtics (who both have GREAT players on their team), it seems like you need a solid backup PG to contend in this league.
I know that Daryl Morey said he plans on matching any offer another team makes. But for this money, is Les Alexander willing to seal the deal?
I want to know what you guys think. Please leave a comment saying who you think will be the backup PG at the start of the year and express your opinions.
