Yao may be out for the first two months?

The Racine Journal Times is reporting that...

Star-divide

... Yao Ming may miss the first 2 months of the upcoming season.

If this story is true, it is (obviously) terrible news. The article's author (Gery Woelfel) doesn't say exactly where he is hearing this from.

I checked around the Internet and could not find any other sources reporting this rumor/story.

I certainly hope it is nothing but a bullsh*t rumor.

Lord knows Rocket-Nation doesn't need him missing any more time...

No cursing in title. No pirated material, such as links to online game streams. Do not cut/paste entire sections of content from other websites. Thanks.

oy that's grim

However if it means getting Yao back healthy for the rest of the season I’m all for it. It’ll really depend on how the team’s doing without him, because if not well, He’ll be on the court much sooner

Is it really that terrible?

I feel like we’d be in Boston’s shoes from last year. Staying healthy for the playoffs is more important than winning regular season games. We should be able to contend with any team if we have a healthy roster.

I would hate if it is true but

just to stay positive i think it would be good if he got more rest and better he be hurt now then in the playoffs when we really need him

This is bull shit.

If the author has no source, It’s all fake.

I think you underestimate the ability of the Racine Journal-Times to scoop stories on the inner workings of the Rockets.

I'm not going to say he's wrong

But his sources are either clairvoyant or is Daryl Morey, because there is no way that stuff would leak otherwise.

Isn't that the MO over there?

I’m with the rest of the board and you, no source, no corroborating articles. I say we run one that says “Entire Lakers fall ill with leprosy” just to see if it has legs.

I'm always right, this isn't conjecture, merely statement of fact.

Morey said it's bullshit
There were a couple sentences in the Racine (Wisc.) Journal Times about Yao Ming on Monday:

“Houston officials are hopeful All-Star center Yao Ming will be physically sound for the regular-season opener. But I’m hearing the Rockets aren’t about to rush their star back too soon and he could miss up to the first two months of the season.”

Rockets officials report that Yao — who is back in China for his annual charity game — is entirely on track to start training camp and the season on time. More specifically, Daryl Morey said the suggestion that caution could lead the Rockets to hold Yao out of as much as the first two months of the season or that the Rockets have considered it is “totally false.”

I dunno, Mike, Morey vs the Racine (Wisc) Journal. Sounds iffy.

Have we forgotten

that the Bucks drafted Yi Jianlian? Therefore they have a direct line into all things China.

Morey even poked fun at the story on 610 this morning

When they asked him about the story he said something to the effect of “You gotta respect that Wisconsin to The Rockets insider pipeline” and that he was surprised by the story. Completely fabricated.
