A Player the Rockets Could Pursue...
We all have heard by now, and know that the Rockets are looking to make a big trade. We have heard the names of CP3/Melo/Iggy/ and Granger. Here is a name I have yet to see being mentioned. How about Rashard Lewis? The guy would look nice at our SF position. He does have a very big contract and he is already 31. He shouldn't cost so so much. A trade of: Hill, Jeffries, TPE, and a pick should do the trick...and they might want Courtney Lee back...
What do you guys think of Rashard Lewis?

I like rashard
One being that Houston is home for him. Two cause he is pretty damn good. I would’nt mind getting him but is contract is up there, don’t think we get Lee just to trade him.
horrible idea
Why trade for an overpriced small forward who plays no defense? Let’s cool it on trade talks, this roster is well set, why is everyone proposing players that won’t be traded or aren’t worth it?
I'm always right, this isn't conjecture, merely statement of fact.

I blame the ESPN trading machine.

agreed, I just posted on the proposed Yahoo trade Iggy and gang between 6ers and Indiana
I am totally behind this team for that fact that I think it will be a tight nit team and suprise everyone…but I do think that we still have matchup problems that could help with an Iggy type player.
On the Lewis idea….no thanks. He has streaky nights when he sucks and add in the bad D and he is not worth it. I just don’ t get any sort of fire/desire to win from they guy.
We have two great SFs in Battier and Bud. I have no problem upgrading them but it better be for an all around solid player like Iggy or a scoring phenom like Melo.
Honestly, I think Bud is going to be a beast this year. I just hope Battier is teaching him how to be a defensive jedi.
Better Idea
Indiana is looking to unload a wing for a big. Hill for George is what i propose. Oh yea and a big fat NO to Lewis. Why would Orlando do that and better yet why would we want him. He is not a Daryl Morey kind of guy at all. Not worth it in any way for either team.
GO ROCKETS, GO TEXANS, GO ASTROS (EVEN THOUGH THEY SUCK)!!!
I don't know George's game...
but that is worth considering. We have tons of PF spot but big/tall guys (Hill is really more tall than big) that are quick, can run, good hands etc…are hard to come by.
Considering we have Scola, Hill, Patterson, Hayes, Jefferies all at PF then it may be worth it.
Honestly though, isn’t George a young SF….it will take him a year to develop probably. If we want to win now, Bud is probably a better bet over the next two years.
So, ship out a PF we're trying to transition to C
for another SF when we just shipped out a SF because we don’t need SFs? Hill could develop into our Center of the future and you’re proposing trading that for a Small Forward with Ariza fresh off a trade… I fail to see the logic in this trade.
I'm always right, this isn't conjecture, merely statement of fact.
you fail to see logic in anyones ideas
I will make my point and thats it. George could turn out to be a very, very good player in the top 10 NBA players sense. Those are more hard to come by than a descent big man these days. Hill I dont think will be a top 10 player and he is a PF and not a C. Putting him as a full time C is setting him up for failure. Say what you will but I will not engage in one of your long arguments that loose it’s point after two replies.

*Facepalm*
I’ve actually got a good record of coming around to other schools of thought, just because I disagree with you and you get all upset about it doesn’t mean I’m stubborn.
George COULD turn out to be a very good player, but we just shipped out a small forward for a reason. Hill may not be best suited for the center position but year 3 is where he’ll come out and a full year backing up the center probably will do him a great deal of good. We need big guys, not wings. We have Courtney Lee and Chase Buddinger on the wings and our point guards are young. The idea that shipping out our young (most likely) high return big men for more wings is just saying “We’re trying to be a new Minnesota and overload on like, 2 positions.”). Also, just because you doubt Hill’s ability to develop into a great player doesn’t mean it holds water. Morey’s words on Hill were roughly “His ceiling is only as high as he sets it.” and from all observations the kid is a worker with size and good defensive instincts that just need to hone themselves and he’ll be a good to great player for years to come.
So, in summation, stop whining and respond to the issue posed, not crying that I disagree with you from time to time.

you've got to be kidding
Rashard Lewis is an oversize shooting guard with streaky shooting, no post awareness, and crap defense, hell Rudy Gay is a good option
You are right about Rashard in all of those categories except one.
Rashard does have a post game. He never does it because he plays with Dwight Howard.

even with the post game
he is just not impressive as an all around player. My basic memories of his game are just camping out on the three point line, waiting for a pass. The guy is a great shooter but any more than that and I just don’t remember.
i didnt say he doesnt have a post game
Rasheed also has a sweet post game, but it means jack because he floats around the perimeter
same with Shad, he just love the 3 too much, I’ve seen it become more prevalent as he ages
i guess bill ingram is thinking the same

Lewis can be good
but he can also be horrible. I hate his streaky-ness. I think we have enough 3pt shooters anyways. I’d rather go for Prince.
have any of ya'll seen yahoo nba front news about A.I.
to indina im pretty sure we can give philly better players then what they are giving.
Wow I just saw that
I don’t know if Philly would want to have both Turner and George but I could be wrong. They would then be in need of a PF. Indy would look scary good though especially on defense.

Don't like Lewis and this trade...
for the exact reasons so many before me have already pointed out. Houston needs hard working players that play team ball. Non of the players you mentioned really fit that mold (CP3, Melo, Iggy). I do like Granger though. Chris Paul is probably the worst, especially now that he’s represented by LeBron’s team of fuck up agents and leeches.
Aaron Brooks #1… we don’t need a new PG.
Lewis makes
somewhere in the ballpark of $1 billion/year. At least that’s how it seems to me. So no.
How many Biletnikoffs does he have? NOT TWO!
and considering the earlier proposals:
“Kobe Bryant for Jefferies, a NY pick and a box of craker jacks”…thats saying something
Don't like Lewis
Too much money, too little value.
