He said in an interview that he was 5'10" and a half.
That’s believable.
That's his height without shoes
According to his draft measurements. However, he has the wingspan of a 6’4" guy.
Yes, but
NBA guys tend to have larger than normal arm spans- so it’s freakish for a normal 5’10 guy, but not so much for an NBA player.
or even....
a college prospect.
It’s hard to play against young kids now, aged 16 or so on the playgrounds with freakish builds that know how to emulate NBA talent. They don’t have to be tall. They just need the right build combined with speed and quickness, overall athleticism gets them far, but if they understand the knowledge aspect, it’s downright scary what a small dude with the right build can accomplish. ABZ is like a precursor to that.
They will get from end of the court snatching a rebound and display an overly elaborate finger roll on the other end of the court before you can say “the Miami Heat are owned by the mafia”.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight...

Can ABZ bulk up?

Not to suggest...
he’s gotta be a muscle-bound freak, but he needs to be able to hold his ground against dudes like Rondo and Rose. That’s all I’m saying.

I think that what you see is what you get.
His trade is quickness, so anything that cuts into that isn’t worth it. Most players have opponents who give them problems. Dwight Howard is a great defensive center, but he’s ineffective against Yao, for example.
The guys who can be great against anybody? Those are the superstars. That’s why Kobe, Durant, LeBron, Wade are the biggest stars – they can maintain their excellence against almost anyone. The same used to be true of TMac. And it may be true of Brandon Roy as well, but he’s in the Northwest, and effectively, therefore, invisible.

Not to sound like an asshole,
cause I know this is going to come off wrong, but shouldn’t my fanpost about budinger’s injury gone up on the front page rather than this? Not to take away from this fanpost, it’s funny.
But alas, this isn’t my blog. Not my decision.
