...After last night's game at TD Garden against the Celtics people began to remember why Aaron Brooks is probably our best player. It isn't the first time we have seen him do that either even though I know some guys will pretend to have no memory of Brooks taking games over. I went to the game thread to read the comments and everyone, and I mean everyone, was giving him his props for single handedly closing out the game when everyone else disappeared. Even anti-Brooks pro -Lowry guys were giving him his credit. One anti-Brooks guy (I won't call you out but you know who you are) said and I quote, " I have to admit I missed AB". Guys who are always bashing Aaron for his size and his score first mentality were sure happy to have him last night. I just find it funny how some of us switch up game like that.
I am by no means trying to call anyone two faced, but I feel like some of us live so much in the moment we forget what the real deal is. Sure Kyle has been serviceable in AB's absence but I think I speak for everyone on this board when I say Kyle Lowry is not capable of duplicating what AB did last night. Since Brooks got hurt I have heard to many people jumping in the Kyle Lowry bandwagon saying he should continue to start and all that other stuff. I bet those same people now are going to say AB should start again and Lowry should go back to the bench. This is the type of behavior that goes on in Clutchfans. This is TDS. We are smart ( most of us anyways).
I know I am going to get ridiculed (because I always do) but this had to be said and I have the balls to take the criticism. I'm not sure when AB will get his starting job back but I think it is safe to say he will. IMO he is the better man for the job especially if we want to still make a run at the playoffs. I am not downing Kyle but I just feel like we are a scarier team to face with AB starting. This is now a PG driven league and we have one in Brooks that can actually carry us stretches. Nobody else on this team but him has that ability.
