While looking on the nba site i was suprised to find pat on the rankings at all the man has only played 6 games in the nba. Number 1 Blake Griffin has played 34, number 2 DeMarcus Cousins has played 32 and number 9 Gordon Hayward has played 29 games. This shows the quality Pat is bringin with his new found mins.
In 6 games he is averaging 5.2pts, 4.3rpg, 0.8blk with a fg% of .632 in 14 mins a game. I think this is great for a rookie on his first few nba games especially after being sent to the d-league. Im not saying he will win the rookie of the year but wit solid mins i think he could move up and get around 6th place.
Thing about the Rockets is i like pretty much all our players i think we need chuck and he deserves the mins he gets maybe a little to much but i wouldnt change it unless maybe we get a big center and these reason keep pat out of the chance to make the team (and for hill to show he can become a solid athletic big).
In the last 2 of 3 games pat has got 10 rebounds and at least 5pts. Im certain he will not get much points with the scorers on the team but his advantages i think will be rebounds and hustle, hitting open midrange jumpers and decent post/team defence. The disadvantages to his game will probably be taking mins from hill which i think could cause hill to get more frustrated and foul that little bit more while on the court, his lack of NBA experience compared to scola, miller, jeffries and a small bit that hill has. I think when chuck is back reduce his mins by about 5 and scolas mins by about the same (hes gonna run outta steam sooner or later i wouldnt be surprised) give these mins to Pat.
My question will Pat become a solid player for us this season granted he gets mins? If u think he should get more who should lose out? Or do u think im being a little to optimistic?
One of my first proper posts so give feedback and i no my spelling is quite bad. Oh and i reckon the rockets will make the play-off at the 7th seed.
