Let's Play Odds: Bodog Gives Rockets 25/1 Odds To Win West
"So you're telling me there's a chance."
Bodog releases NBA odds every year, and after some delay, they've got their "rankings" for the upcoming season. Houston's odds to win the West are 25/1, and their odds to win the 2012 NBA title are 75/1. Fair enough, I suppose.
The best part is that Houston sits in a better position than the Utah Jazz. That's just great. Also, if I were a betting man, I'd place a nice wager on the Minnesota Timberwolves. They're exciting, they've got Rick Adelman and they could possibly snag Brandon Roy if he's amnestied by the Blazers. If anything, they'll be fun to watch.
Here's the complete list:

Not a lot of value for the West
I guess the Spurs are the best value, assuming they can stay healthy.

Yes
15/2 odds seem very favorable.

As usual
We’re ranked 9th in the west. Sigh… Being mediocre is the worst :(

I think those odds
have already considered CP3 to the Clips as a foregone conclusion.
If you can feel them, they are real.
a paltry 25/1 odds? Good enough for any warrior

This might be a dumb question
but I was wondering…can teams trade their “amnesty”? Or the “stretch”?

What I find odd
Is that the nuggets have the same odds as the rockets when half of their team currently plays in the Chinese Basketball League.

They also made the playoffs last year and are pretty darn talented
Last year, they were basically a better version of us. This year, I don’t know. Their duo of Lawson and Miller at the point is excellent, Afflalo has become one of the better two-way shooting guards in the league, Danilo can light up opposing defenses, and there is still that chance that Nene returns. They have a lot of options, I think they’ll be pretty good.
By the way, I’d guess that they still have a significantly higher chance or signing Nene than we do. As much as we can talk about targeting him, they still have the homecourt advantage and much more money to offer.

I thought Afllalo was a free agent, maybe not
I figured the bulls would make a significant run at him since they value two way shooting guards more than most
