Chuck Hayes!!

What do y'all think of our boy Chuck Hayes getting a full mid-level offer from Sacramento! Marc stein reporting....20 million for 4 years....I would love to have him back, but I know Houston won't offer that! I know Sacramento needs to spend some money but, WHOA! Does he take the deal? Does he want to play for a contender? Or, does he take the cash? Take the money and run Chuck! Good luck to ya!

No cursing in title. No pirated material, such as links to online game streams. Do not cut/paste entire sections of content from other websites. Thanks.

of course he takes the deal..

no way Houston would or should pay him the MLE.. Like I said in the fanshot, I’m very happy for him, happy he’s getting paid. I think it’s a nice fit with Sac-town.
Just an interesting tidbit…. take it for what it’s worth…..
If the Rockets do not trade Battier to Memphis along with Ish Smith for Thabeet, Carroll, and the pick or whatever… Shane’s expiring contract is off our books (7+mil) and obviously we don’t have Thabeet’s on our payroll. So in essence, that 5 million right now could be used towards the Chuckwagon. Conversely, Thabeet and his 5 million are still with Memphis, forcing them to burn their amnesty right away on him, assuming their plan was to still give Randolph that ridiculous extension, and claim to match any offers for Gasol.

If you can feel them, they are real.

For what it's worth man, he clearly earned that money.

It’s just time to part ways. Chuck is a great 1 on 1 defender but that only works on your guy, Houston needs someone to keep people out of the paint, which means you should probably not be under 6’11".

I shall remain in denial about this is until I see a post stating Chuck has moved on....

But he never should've been starting at Center

CHuck is great at what he does. But he should’ve been coming off the bench to put a beat-down on scoring 4’s, not starting at Center.

And btw, I think there’s a possibility that Chuck gives the Rockets a hometown discount. He’s not a restricted FA that accepted that offer that the Rockets have to match, right? A lot can happen yet. If Scola gets moved, I’d love to see Chuck backing up Patterson.

Should have never been starting at Center... but he did.

We can’t use irrelevant statements to prove a point.

I'm really happy for him

He truly deserves every penny. I wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Dude is worth more than that

but he should jump at that offer. I think everyone here loves the guy, he was just put in a tough situation here. Even though he’s been great, shouldn’t have had to be a starting center. I’d say the Kings win that trade if we get Dalembert. I think I might actually make sure I buy a ticket for when the Kings come to town.

Sad.

Had to happen though. But nonetheless I’m not happy.

Good luck Chuck

People are going to call this an overpay if he signs the deal, but this is Darko Milicic money we’re talking about. I love you Chuck, but this could be farewell.

Here's one Kings fan that won't call him an overpay

In fact, I think he’s still a good value at $5m a year for four years. The issue for Kings fans will be if this represents their “big” offseason signing, they will be sorely disappointed. But I look forward to seeing Hayes play on a nightly basis – how can you not love the guy?

Remember that Chuck is from the area

Or at least Modesto is 1.5 hours away from Sac-Town. Not that he’ll have much time there this season anyway. But that’s a ton of money that he deserves.

And I think Sacramento also was going to have to work to hit the basement of the cap. So “overpaying” a quality guy like Chuck isn’t going to bite you in the ass due to character issues. Remember, the Kings are young. The oldest guy on the team is John Salmons. You need a locker room guy there, and one who won’t take DeMarcus’s shit. For everything that Chuck brings to the table, this deal is perfect.

OK, this deal is now killing me on the inside. DON’T GO CHUCK!!!

How many Biletnikoffs does he have? NOT TWO!

You don't even know the half of it.

Seeing this guy rise from almost nothing in the D-League to fan favorite and emotional leader is just heartwarming. That triple-double last year? Are you kidding me? I’m going to miss this guy so much

Absolutely

One of the things about this group of Rockets is that you really like and appreciate the role players. That’s how we felt about guys like Horry, Cassell, and Elie. Granted, those guys won us two titles. However, I would say Chuck is as generally well-liked around here is the same vein.

I was at the Boston game last year

When Chuck got in Kevin Garnett’s face it was the highlight of the year.

Haha

Don’t worry. As long as it’s not directed at anyone or racist, homophobic, etc., you can swear on here.

Pretty funny though.

I was at this game!

I remember the dust up, never saw what he said. That’s classic. That night was awesome. Tons of Celtics fans being loud as hell before the game, then going dead silent as they got the crap kicked out of them

I was at the game as well.
