The Rockets' best post defender over the past five-six years is leaving for the Soon-to-be-Elsewhere Kings. The Kings signed him to a four-year, $21.3 million deal. He will be missed.

This day just keeps getting better and better, doesn't it?

I honestly believe

they were going to bring him back after getting Pau and whomever else. I love Hayes, I’ll make sure I’m in the stands when he comes to town for the first time.

damn

did the rockets even made an offer i didn’t hear anything about that. gonna mis him. what if we don’t aquire a center this offseason.

The Rockets reportedly told him to hold on before accepting anything yesterday

Before the trade-that-wasn’t went down. Everyone presumes (rightly, I think) that the Rockets were going to make an offer to Nene after Pau was acquired. I guess what the Rox believed was they’d get Nene and Pau and then make an offer to Chuck, probably using part of the MLE.

With none of that happening, Chuck just took the Sacramento offer, figuring that it was the best he was going to get. Which is true. I don’t know if the Rockets would have offered him the full MLE like the Kings did, but one would think that being part of that frontcourt would be tempting for Chuck.

Oh well. Yet another way the Rox got jobbed last night.

24 hours ago I was disgusted that Chuck was leaving

Now I don’t even care just want to kill Stern, Cuban and Gilbert.
Seeing this #44 in another jersey is still going to be hard

brandon roy retires

Sad. But, didn’t the rockets try to trade for him last yr or the yr before? Dodged a bullet there. Portland definately has the curse of mj.

I'm happy for Chuck, he's going to earn every penny of that money

and even happier that the Rockets weren’t paying the bill.

Adios Chuck!

It takes some serious Moxy to play center at 6-6, but that’s something you had in spades.

Best of luck on your road ahead.

Anyone else get the sinking feeling

this is about to be a shitstorm of magnificent proportions in which we not only miss out on a great player thanks to the league, but also lose some players and get worse, through no fault of our FO and owner, but simply because of horrible luck (and Stern)?

Well...we are Houston sports fans.

So everything going wrong seems to be our M.O., especially in 2011. For now, we just have to wait and see.

Whew, glad I only like the Rockets.

I’m a SD Chargers fan. Wait, dammit.

Yeesh

Too bad y’all don’t have an undefeated QB like us Texans fans do! Fates on Yates.

Is anyone else feel distraught, like the Rockets are just helpless and we weren't meant to win

I mean, we finally have a place to trade some of our assets and let the others get a chance to play and this happens. Chuck would have probably come back to be a role player behind Pau and Nene, now that would have been awesome. But now that Stern vetoed the trade, everything we have worked for over the last few years is hopeless. Now we are stuck with these, good, but underachieving players. It just sucks, and hopefully we are still able to sway Nene or another big man here and can follow up with this trade.

"Soon to be elsewhere kings"

Aw c’mon man, that was low. Us small market teams should be bonding together, and stuff. Our fanbase is really excited to get him and by your guys reactions I can tell he is definitely a player to be missed as well as appreciated.

Houston
Small market

I sure hope you guys don’t believe this.

But, yeah, sucks for y’all.

Yeah, Kings aren't leaving

Don’t understand why you’re trying to pick a fight, but whatever
