Ok. We're 26-30. Denver, Memphis, Portland, Utah, and Phoenix are ahead of us in the Western Conference. According to John Hollinger's playoff odds, we have a 22% chance of making the playoffs. The only way we could get a decent seed in the playoffs is if we make a trade for Melo, or hope that we go on a late season surge. In order for the latter to happen, Denver would probably have to trade Melo, Portland would need their ever numerous injuries to bring them down, and Utah would have to crash after Sloans' resignation. Even if we do make it to the playoffs, is an 8th seed really worth it? We would most likely play San Antonio in the first round, where unless a miracle happened, we would go home. The only other solution is to simply crash our team. We don't have a superstar anymore. We have too many mediocre players, and not enough positions/playing time to play them all. There was an interesting article about which players to play in 4th quarter situations, which really brought to light how mediocre we are. If we take apart this team, then maybe we have a chance of getting high draft picks, and we can let Morey do his magic. Any thoughts?
