RealGM reports that Charlotte is actively shopping Gerald Wallace and Stephen Jackson. As much as I used to love Jackson, he's getting older now and still has a fairly large contract.
Anyway, Gerald Wallace is up for grabs. RealGM also reports that the Rockets and Blazers are in talks with Charlotte management at this point, which would make sense because that strong defensive wing is exactly what we need. I highly doubt Andre Iguodola is available anymore what with the 76ers making a huge turnaround this season and not sucking ass anymore. Sucks for us. In my opinion, Gerald Wallace is fairly similar in playing style, but he's longer and plays better D.
Here's my trade idea:
Houston does it because we want Gerald Wallace. Nazr Mohammed can be a viable starting C or a perfect backup C. Charlotte does it to get rid of Gerald Wallace but more importantly shed $17M off their payroll, getting them under the cap after this season.
Battier would either have to come off the bench (eh) or get traded in another seperate deal (50/50) or we might just hold onto him and let his deal expire (other side of the 50).
Thoughts/suggestions in the comments.
