SO here we go, one final trade post from me before the deadline. Based off the rumors that Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace are available, I present you...http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4lotzco
For those who can't see it,
Three Way between Hou, Por, and Cha.
Hou gets: Nazr Mohammed, Gerald Wallace, DJ Augustin, Pryzbilla, and a TPE
Cha gets: Greg Oden, Yao Ming, Ish Smith, Brandon Roy, and a TPE
Por gets: Stephen Jackson, Boris Diaw, Jordan Hill, and Aaron Brooks
Why would they do it?
Houston does it to get better. They get a former all-star(still highly capable) in Wallace, a serviceable center in Mohammed, a good young point in DJ, another serviceable big in Pryz, and a TPE.
Charlotte does it for the cap relief and hope for the future of Ish Smith and Brandon Roy, one a growing talent PG and the other an All-Star when Healthy.
Portland does it to move on and still contend. Their fans are yearning and this trade gives them alot more talent and much better hope for the future with immense depth. Of course, they lose Roy, their Star, but they need to face the fact that he's not coming back and producing like he would've without his injuries.
The major deal-breaker to me would be Michael Jordan. Is he willing to give up and start again? Is cap relief enough for him? Will he be willing to bet on Brandon Roy's future? And what if we offer multiple draft picks as well? would he bite? These are all questions that surround a trade of such caliber and I'm no genius with trades but I think that if these are the pieces Houston and Portland are looking for, a deal could be brokered by the GM's of the NBA, all masterminds, except KAAAAHHHNNN....
