Looks like we will not have to worry about the Utah Jazz for the next decade
Today, the Utah Jazz traded Deron Williams to the New Jersey Nets.
Yes, really. No need to make any declarations of "shenanigans" and search for your brooms.
The good news? The Utah Jazz probably will not be relevant again any time soon. Enjoy the lottery, bitches.
The bad news? I might actually feel bad for kicking a team when it's down. Oh, who am I kidding. I won't feel bad about it at all. F Utah! I will enjoy laughing at them for being 25-57 every single year. Because they deserve it.
In two weeks... both of these guys have become "ex-Jazz". Interesting.

Hahaha, suck it, Utah!

Don't kill me for this but....
Do you guys think we could make an offer for Al Jefferson now?( or Millsap)
I'm a household name... at my house.
I think we need a legit big
Not another undersized one. As much as I like Jefferson we need a defensive minded 6’11" -7’ guy who rebounds and blocks shots to compliment Scola’s game.
Okur is probably the available one. Want him?
I see no reason Favors, Milsap, and Jefferson can’t all get good minutes if they’re willing to play them at PF/C. I actually like this trade for Utah. Harris/Favors/Milsap/Jefferson is a fine nucleus.
Are they collecting PFs?
Jefferson, Millsap and Favors? Someone’s gonna be on the move on the next year or so even if Jefferson/Millsap get time at the center position. Plus they are still paying Okur $10mil a season
Wow the west is literally getting easier by the day
CP3 to East next please…
yeah
time for SA to trade Ginobili and Frenchy, too.
maybe Dirk to Orlando.
though, unfortunately, Carl Landry is now a division rival (he’s going to New Orleans)
Not like he'll play many minutes behind West/Okafor/Gray
Kinda funny how he keeps getting traded to teams with big men log jams
yeah, it's a downer
though I would like to see him find a good place where he can turn his career around. His game may fit very well alongside CP3.
Any Speculation?
The Chronicle mentioned that Morey has deals on the table for a draft pick and one for an impact player. Any idea who the impact player could be?
who knows
If Deron Williams can be traded…….. ANYONE can be traded.
Morey never does the conventional trade. It never matches what is “rumored”. And in three years, he has always seemed to make a deadline deal that helps the team.
The wrong side of 30?
I meant Gerald Wallace, not Ben. He’s 28. And say we try to get M. Gasol from FA in the summer, that’s a good team next year while the West gets depleted.
what does Wallace do that is so special?
If anything he has regressed. And we have a guy on our roster ALREADY that can do the things Wallace does. Terrence Williams.
If they dont play him after the deadline im really gonna be pissed.
I’ve never been one of those “Free T-Will” fans, because I was thinking they are show casing Bud for a trade. But if after the trade he is still warming Houstons bench…I see big locker room problems starting to happen.
I will take a 1st round pick for Budinger just to give T-Will some playing time this season. We got Bud from the 2nd round so a future 1st round pick would be an upgrade.
still waiting on the Rockets to do something

granger, Iggy, blatche are the only ones that come to mind, but are any of them IMPACT players.
Dwight Howard is a pipe dream

here's a player I would love to get
Al Horford. Atlanta overpaid for Joe Johnson and will be unlikely to sign Horford to an extention he’s worth. The dude can legitimately play C.
THAT would be an impact player.
He's already been signed to an extension
12 mill/year for 5 years

shit I missed that
I thought only Durant and Conley got extensions?
Since when are the Hawks allowed to make smart moves?

Well well well
It is amazing how after one year, Jazz come from one year as a team who makes the playoff to a team that going to suck for a long while. They just picked up Al Jefferson (Which I think he is gone by the off-season), I wonder how worse can this get

It's already farfetched to get one let alone both, but
i’d like to have Granger and Hibbert. Please don’t wake me up until it’s over. It’s a rather nice dream don’t you think?

the nets are 8 games out of the playoffs right now
maybe we can get jeffreson
now that they are a sort of rebuilding
by MilitaryBigfoot on Feb 23, 2011 11:54 AM CST reply actions
why sort of rebuilding?
They’ve got 4 guys on the roster who have been or could be all-stars. I would have the Rockets swap rosters with them in a heartbeat.
well, why the #$&^ not?
(No cursing in title right?) If williams could leave it screams to me that almost any team is now willing to dump high-profile free-agent to bes before they have to be humiliated like denver was all year.
If williams is gone, paul may flee as well. That would be one hell of an impact player if you ask me, not gunna happen, but as the title says, why the fuck not?
More to the point, jefferson is in play now. For all the talk that he doesn’t complement scola they way we’d like and he doesn’t play d and he’s undersized, and so on and so forth, he’s still a 20/10 big and even as just a rental asset, that’s pretty huge.
Odds are, jefferson is the ‘impact’ player spoken about, wether or not we’d agree. We’d also probably make the playoffs provided we do not get gutted, which knowing morey, won’t happen.

Depends on Favors, but Utah could be pretty good in a few years if they reload and ship out Milsap and others for youth/picks.

Couldn't have said it better myself
Our GM is too busy trying to figure out how to lowball others while deals are getting made. Wasting time is only going to reduce who is on the market that could help us because they are being had.
Me against the world is a mismatch in my favor.
ummm, what?
How do you know what Morey is doing?
You are starting to sound like the guy who believes “coachspeak”…
he knows as much
As the people saying the rockets won’t pay aaron brooks so he must be traded. Speculation is all that’s available, just because you don’t agree with it doesn’t make it wrong.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing
I’m just saying it is IMPOSSIBLE to know what Morey is offering.
In contrast, I can use an awesome thing called “logic” to determine the likelihood the Rockets re-sign Aaron Brooks. And it is decidedly less than 100% given the other factors we know about (Lowry contract, Brooks not being a top 10 PG, Brooks wanting Conley money, etc.)
It's equally plausible applying that thing called "logic"
to infer that because no deal has been done that Morey is not offering enough to get a deal completed. A deal is decidedly less than 100% given the factors we KNOW about (No deal has been done). As opposed to theoretical banter about Brooks’s asking price and assigning arbitrary values that he would seek as though we personally know him.

Not going to lie
I think Utah out-did the Nuggets in the department of getting better picks and assets. Though Felton, Chandler, Gallo could be better with Karl. And I actually hold D-Will in higher regard than Melo.
Damn, This was unexpected, I really really wanted D-will
Jeez, Dave don’t mince words or beat around the bush…
… tell us how you really feel!
;^P
Personally, I wish this sorta bad thing would happen to the Celtics or Lakers or even the Spurs.
But I guess as long as the bad stuff (this time) isn’t happening (again) to the Rockets, I can laugh my arse off…
lmfao!
I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.

varies trades
First off, I think the Knicks gave up too much to get Anthony. Billups should have stayed in Denver and NY could have kept Felton.
I would have loved to get Wilson Chandler from NY. Give them back Hill and Jeffries and add budinger.
We could go after Jachim Noah of the Bulls. Give them Scola and bud.
Granger from Indiana or Theo Radcliff from Philly.
I sure did :)
I agree with another member here who just said we only look good to us and no one else. That is mainly because most of our players cept Martin are too inconsistent to warrant any value in return. And remember what I said yesterday regarding Patrick patterson playing and asking Adelmen if he is listening? Well I guess he did listen to me, or to someone,,,, as he poured in 20 pts yesterday vs Detroit.
The Bulls aren’t gonna trade Noah to Houston…
… apparently it is rumored the Bulls aren’t trading any of their guys the Rockets are supposed to want…

First Larry Miller dies,
then Sloan quit, now their only elite player is gone, and now we all celebrate. It is what I have dreamed of all my life. Think about it guys, it opens up another playoff spot that was always filled by the Jazz. We might get to see the Twolves, or the Clippers or the Warriors, or maybe one day even the Kings actually make the playoffs. All because the Jazz can’t cut the mustard. We better stomp ’em good next time we play them.
For years it has been a 7 team series in the western conference. They were always just good enough to contend but sucked just enough as to get outgunned. Good Riddence and expect payback as in Patrick ‘payback’ Patterson.

haha for both Utah Jazz and Deron Williams, they won't be relevant for a long time to come
boy, we’re seeing an exodus from the west. While the eastern teams try to knock each other out with megadeals, the Western superpowers are sitting pretty.
Hey, if we just stay put, we might still make it into the playoffs. This is a good day even if DM doesn’t make a blockbuster deal.
