Finally an Overtime win, took 6 games to get one but it happened. Rockets get back to back wins, feels like a good time for a momentum shift. Rockets now at 24-28 and staying within reach of the 8th playoff spot. They need to use this next stretch of home games to really build some momentum and pile on some wins. Kevin Martin seems like he drops 30 effortlessly sometimes, you just look at the box score and say wow he had 31 points really? At least it seems that way to me because he'll score like 10 in a quarter then you don't hear from him in a while but slowly but surely he's putting points up. He has been keeping us in games lately and helped us win the past two in a big way. Saw an interesting stat earlier that after Kevin Durant scored 43, that he and Kevin Martin are the only 2 players to score that many points and take less than 20 shots to do so.
Interesting to see Battier's comments about the deadline earlier. ""We've asked for an extension every year since I've been here because this is the place I wanted to be," Battier said. "They've said, 'We're not doing extensions. We're not doing extensions.' After hearing that for a while, you'd get the sneaking suspicions you're not in their future plans." - Houston Chronicle
He has been such a hustle player, and soul of our defense for many years, it'd be sad to part with him. I understand the business and expiring contracts but he's a fan favorite and he said many times he's wanted to be in Houston, nice to hear that from a player finally. I have met the guy personally and he is a great guy, always willing to interact with the fans. But this past year has been up and down I wouldnt be surprised by anything the Rockets do. I'll tell you one thing, not many people get under Kobe's skin, and Shane's one of them, and does it with success.
