March 18th. Green puke yesterday, puke green jerseys today.
Big game for the Rockets (or not depending) and big game for Boston. Rockets have had some success against the Celtics lately, so that's good.
Expect to see a lot of ugly green jerseys around TC tonight. This is the law of Boston fandom - Boston wasn't good enough to provide them with a living, but no matter what city's coin they take, they'll always support Boston teams.
Which is ok, I can live with it, I guess. Despite the average Boston sports fan being arrogant and entitled in victory and petulant and graceless in defeat, I can live with it. No, it's moving somewhere and taking that place's money then indoctrinating their children to be the exact same Boston fan they are, despite living in Texas or California, or Washington or wherever that pisses me off.
Anyway, Go Rockets.

Houston by 3, 99-102. I say we jump out to a lead early and struggle to hold onto it. Celtics make an early fourth quarter push to take the lead and may go up by as much as 5, but in the closing 3mins their old legs will catch up with them and lowry/ ppat will take us home.
Thats my feelin for this one, not sure where it comes from and pretty sure im dead wrong.
Anyway, look for jeff green to have a bigger impact on this one than he should. Garnet will be the biggest threat though.
I hope to god we get scola for this one, even if just for 20mins, we need someone to have garnet expend defense energy on.

well it kinda makes sense that he wants to tighten up his rotation to 8-9 guys in anticipation of the playoffs

I get it, Hasheem has all this potential (not arguing that) and all but we just won against the reigning Eastern Conference Champs and all you got is “Thabeet did not play, the hell with the win”?
I mean no disrespect buddy but I was at the game making a complete ass of myself, yelling my lungs out and throwing up throggles all because I enjoy watching my team play good ball against another team we’re “supposed” to lose to. If that’s not enough then I guess I just don’t get it.
Last note, Yeah we had a consistent lead in the fourth but it was dwindling when the Celtics subs came in and started playing catch up. I mean I was begging Adelman to put Lowry back in with 5:00 mins left because I was getting scared, and history proves we have a hard time keeping those double digit leads down the stretch.
Rant over, sorry man.

and the board throws recs to guys bitching about Thabeet. Good, solid win, that’s awesome, it progresses us towards a playoffs we don’t need, time for youth is good, this win was wonderful, but the negativity towards a guy who hasn’t had an opportunity is just plain sad. People say it’s annoying but so isn’t the perpetual hysteria of “WHAT IF WE WERE IN THE EAST?!?! WAAAAH!”

Patterson got a double double with 4 block, Jordan Hill had 9 rebounds in limited time. Who really cares if Thabeet plays or not, only problems was the starter playing so much in a rout

And Miller got only 9, you’re mostly taking away minutes from other young, developing guys if you want to play Thabeet. There are only 96 post minutes to go around. Especially when Scola returns, you can’t get quality minutes for all three of Patterson, Hill, and Thabeet. And we don’t need all three of them to develop. Any 2 would put us in fine position underneath.
Minutes based on merit. Period.

right after you learn the principle? or do you learn, internalize till you are ready, then take the Exam? Why go to Law school at all, if you can pass the bar and go right into litigation

Thabeet has already done that, it was called college. Defense doesn’t change. No one’s asking him for offense. He needs to practice against guys bigger than 6’6" as Centers.

Here's the thing
we see Thabeet at different level of readiness, neither of us saw enough to know who’s right. I see college as the root of his problem, you see it as his preparation, which is why we form different opinions. I postulate that there has to be a reason that Lionel Hollins said that they had to teach him basketball at an 8th grade level, and that reason cant just be that Lionel Hollins is a dumbass, because he’s leading a playoff team with many young players.
But of course, there’s no evidence to prove his readiness if he doesnt play, but I’m just saying it is not a crime if he doesnt
