Real Madrid is no longer undefeated in the Emanuele Molin Era. Madrid fell to Unicaja Malaga, 69-68, in overtime on the road this Saturday, March the 19th, and now stands at 20-6 but remains at second place in the ACB standings.
Houston Rockets’ Sergio Llull started but logged only 14:57 of playing time. In limited action, due to foul trouble (he eventually fouled out early in the fourth-quarter), Llull scored only two points on 0-of-6 shooting, dished an assist and recorded a steal.
Llull just didn’t have his shot today and struggled badly to stand in front of the athletic Gerald Fitch, who exploded for 26 points and was sent to the foul line five times.
The loss snapped Real Madrid’s three-game winning streak after Ettore Messina’s departure. They tip-off the EuroLeague’s quarterfinals against compatriot Power Electronics Valência at home next Tuesday, March the 22nd.
