Real Madrid managed to bounce back from Thursday’s loss to Power Electronics Valência on game two of the EuroLeague’s quarterfinals with a 74-73 win over Gran Canaria 2014 at home this Saturday, March the 26th.
Houston Rockets’ Sergio Llull started and logged 27:29 of playing time. Llull scored 19 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field and 3-of-3 from the foul line, grabbed two boards and drew five personal fouls but turned the ball over four times.
Llull was crucial late third-quarter when Pablo Prigioni had a disagreement with head-coach Emanuele Molin and was benched, forcing Llull to run point. He was clutch in the fourth-quarter, leading Real Madrid to a 22-16 run that gave them the win which included a drive and score that eventually was the game-winner with 17 seconds left.
With the win, Real Madrid improves to 21-6 and remains at second place in the ACB standings. They play game three of the EuroLeague’s quarterfinals next Tuesday, March the 29th, in Valência.
