The Miami Heat Are Faltering!!!!!!!!!! RANT

Five straight losses and they are crying like new born bitches! This makes me so happy to be a basketball fan. So they lose to the Portland Trailblazers last night and Chris Bosh is now complaining about getting touches in the low post? That bitch of a big man has always been a jump shooter. Is it only now that realizes that he should play in the low blocks? Ha! I always told people that the Heat would have problems because they do not have players that compliment one another. Both starting wings are slashers without a jump shot. All of their centers suck ass and contribute nothing. Their PF plays like an SF. And their point guards don't guard. Bibby ain't getting no younger, Chalmers aint getting no smarter, Miller ain't getting no more overrated, Dampier and Howard are ring chasers who will never get one, Joel Anthony is just awful, but James Jones is their best role player believe it or not (unless you consider Bosh a role player now lol). I spit on that team. And they really thought they assembled a good supporting cast around their three douchebags. The only way they become successful is if either Wade or James reinvent themselves to compliment the other. Since their egos are too big to do that it will never happen!. The more they lose the better the season is for me.

This is what makes me so proud to be a Rockets fan. We may not have a single top 10 or even top 20 player, but we have guys who know their roles and play them well. We have guys who work to add dimensions to their games for the betterment of the team. Our guys work hard to compliment each other on both ends of the floor. It is only a matter of time until this team develops into a contender. Our front office works to add pieces that will work for the team rather than get pieces that just look good. Go Rockets! Fuck the Heat!

The whole crying this has been taken waay to far.

Am I happy that they are struggling this season? Yes.
You dont get to party before you win the rings.
You get it with hard work.
If any of them wanted to be a rockets uniform would I turn them down? No

Do I think they will never win a ring? No.

So I went off last night

I love my Rockets team. We may not have much in the line of “meat” but we’ve got a lot of great role players and solid pieces. Batman, your post makes me want to write a post about why young “Superteams” are terrible ideas.

We can cite Boston, but Pierce, Allen and Garnett all 3 offer different skill sets. KG is a great post player who brings it night in night out defensively. Allen is a killer shooter who doesn’t mind slashing to the basket. Pierce is the 1-on-1 slasher who can shoot 3’s. Even look at the Spurs Big 3. Parker is a good get-in-the-lane PG, Duncan works the low post and Giniboli is a do-everything guy that you really want on your team. Even New York’s trio is better than Miami, with Melo the 1-on-1 guy, Amare the “post presence” and Chauncy Billups as the PG/spot shooter/get everyone involved guy.

Miami’s trio is flawed. LeBron and D-Wade should be paired with Scola/Martin because that’s what we are missing is that 1-on-1 player. We’ve got the post presence and the dead-eye shooter. We need that go-to weapon. Miami has 2 of them.

Those two do not play off of each other well unless they are in transition

Then again, everyone plays well together in transition.

The team is , but i cant say they suck

because they dont

Those 3 guys has been the focal point for so long they dont know how to let that go. Boston did it because They knew how to defer, there are night KG’s sole job is to rebound and play defense and hit mid-range, and there are nights where Ray takes all the shot. Most importantly, Boston has a point guard, they wisely let a point guard facilitate the offense rather than a star

by NVP on Mar 9, 2011 5:26 PM CST reply actions

what do people think?

would they be better if they trade Bosh for a solid starting big man like Marc Gasol a pure shooter like JJRedick or our own Bud?

not sayin these deals work just wonderin if a few pure shooters and a solid force downlow who posts would be better then Bosh? any opinions?

by IrishThrasher on Mar 9, 2011 7:00 PM CST reply actions

Hmm

They have shooters…every person that’s not listed as a Pf or a center on that team can shoot. James jones, miller, Bibby, and chalmers, they’re all spot up 3 point shooters. Bringing in reddick would only hurt them, and give me bosh > gortat. They’re almost stuck with what they have, I think the NBA has finally stopped overating bosh so finding a great trade for him like there wouldve been last year is gone. They gotta work with what they’ve got, and good luck to them, but hopefully they lose.

The Heat have problems.

They may not win a title, possibly ever.

Why?

1. Bench play. Mike Miller got massively overpaid. He was good a few years ago, but now he is strictly a spot up shooter. Miami gave him a 35 million dollar contract. That might be a worse signing than the Travis Outlaw signing. Besides Miller, they have nobody that is even mediocre. They are all below average. They cannot improve their bench unless they trade Bosh, Bron, or Wade, which will not happen.

2. How the big 3 play off the ball. LeBron and Wade are mediocre at playing off of each other. Both have subpar 3 point shots, and both require the ball to score, unlike Bosh, who can play off of Wade and LeBron. LeBron and Wade are strictly one-on-one players in the halfcourt. Sure, they are both great in transition, but in the halfcourt, they cannot play off each other.

3. Lack of a center and point guard. Joel Anthony and Z are mediocre options at center, and Mario Chalmers and Mike Bibby may not even make it on another team. Bibby is probably good enough to do so, but he’s strictly a shooter, that’s it. Riley thinks he did a fantastic job by surrounding his 3 stars with nothing but shooters. He thought wrong. Especially with some of the players. Guys like Eddie House and Mike Bibby are great shooters, but terrible defenders. Guys like Mario Chalmers and Joel Anthony are good defenders, but bad shooters.

A reason why the Big 3 in Boston has worked out so well is because all 3 of them can play off the ball very well. They do not need the ball to score.

Mark my words, the Heat will not win one title in this new decade, not one. I don’t care about a lack of chemistry or any shit like that, because they cannot improve their bench because of the amount of money they spent on Bosh/Wade/Bron/Miller.

Teams that have won the title have usually had one of the better benches in the NBA, while the Heat will significantly have the worst bench in the league for a while, becuase they cannot improve it.

by batman713 on Mar 9, 2011 10:20 PM CST up reply actions

I disagree

1. Miller is not one-dimensional, he’s a tremendous rebounder and passer as well as a very good shooter. His 35 million is about in line with his market value.

2. It’s a valid concern, but great players learn to adjust with playing with other guys, and LeBron and Wade (and hopefully Bosh) will make adjustments.

3. The Heat will have some sort of money to use over the next couple of years to get a better C or PG. We don’t know if there will be an MLE or not, but the Heat are the presumptive #1 destination for any free agent right now.

I don’t think they’ll win this year, but next year or the next (especially if Dexter Pittman can contribute) should promise a very good chance for them to win it all.

They don't have the money to sign free agents.

Assuming the new CBA doesn't wipe it out

They’ll have a mid level exception. That near 6 million a year is good enough to get some pretty decent players (especially with appeal to ring chasers like Nene). If they could get a guy like Jason Richardson, Caron Butler, Dalembert, Nazr Mohammed, or Kwame, they’d look a lot better. Dalembert or Nene especially could be huge if either would signed there for less $$$.

by Patrick Harrel on Mar 10, 2011 12:17 AM CST up reply actions

Nene signed an extention

J Rich and Butler cannot go because of Miller and Jones. So that leaves Dalembert, Mohammed, and Brown. All of which are subpar players so I’m fine with it.

Me against the world is a mismatch in my favor.

by batman713 on Mar 10, 2011 12:53 AM CST up reply actions

Nene did not sign an extension

And last time I checked, you’re allowed to have more than 4 wing players, especially if one of them would be a significant upgrade over what you have. Adding another wing would also allow the Heat the freedom to play Lebron at the 4 or 1 more often, two things that would definitely help with the lack of depth on the frontline and at the point.

by Patrick Harrel on Mar 10, 2011 10:08 PM CST up reply actions

My bad I thought he did

He ain’t goin to Miami and I will bet you my car that he won’t. And why would Miami want that heavy of a glut at the wings when they already have the best two in the league? Guys like Richardson and Butler are 30+ minutes a game players which would only scatter things for Miami. On top of that they don’t solve ANY of the problems the Heat have. They need defensive enforcer in the paint who can play above 3o minutes a game.

Me against the world is a mismatch in my favor.

Uh..

They already have Juwan freaking Howard. He’s just stuck on the bench because Spoelstra doesn’t like him or something. I have an idea… FREE JUWAN!

Unfortunately, they will probably win 1 title

Only because of some fluke moment when Boston goes down (they’re getting old), and the Bulls get eliminated by Atlanta or Orlando (or New York) and Miami can beat those 3 teams. Then there’s the “Dwyane Wade Factor” multiplied by 2 (or 3 if you consider Bosh) and the Heat will shoot 100 free throws in a playoff game.

problem with the heat is their bench blows

in their five game losing streak, this has been their bench production:

8, 6, 26, 11, 15

they’ve got no consistent option—most of their bench is littered with veteran role players who provide stability but not really too much offense.

that said, they’ve got lebron and wade. if they can work out a rotation where either of those two, or even either of those two or bosh is on the floor at any given point (i think they’ve tried the latter) then it might work. but that’s a lot of minutes a night.

by sohum on Mar 9, 2011 11:57 PM CST reply actions

The most likely first round pairings for the Heat

will be NYC or Atlanta. I would not be shocked to see them loose to one of those teams in the first round. Let one of the three kings get nicked up going in to the first round and I would bet on it. Let that happen and the bitchin get started and then see how many free agents want to go there. The Heat will be great till a wheel comes off, then sit back and watch the three amigos play the blame game. I don’t pay much attention to the playoffs after the Rockets are done, but this will be worth watching.

by makinmajik on Mar 10, 2011 2:54 PM CST reply actions

You're on something if you think a 1st round loss for the Heat will deter free agents and ring chasers.

Every analyst out there was saying at the beginning of the season they most likely won’t win it all this year but after a year and another training camp they’re going to get their shit together and be tough. I actually agree with that analysis since Wade and Lebron will desperately have to sort out their roles and I can see Bosh getting traded within 3 years from that squad for more help.

No, but the new CBA will

a championship to the Spurs or Lakers will probably do as well, or more of this BOSH whining or big 3 crying

by NVP on Mar 11, 2011 12:24 PM CST up reply actions

If the CBA is drastically harsh and prohibitive, you're right.

Shy of that, I don’t think a free agent can give a shit. If the Spurs or Lakers win, that is to be expected. Miami still has to have it come together. Add to it the issue of three guys like James, Wade, and Bosh, and you have a good shot in the future, that’s going to draw free agents, not repel them.
