Cheering for Former Rockets?
I found myself pulling for the New Orleans Hornets the other day when they played the Los Angeles Lakers. Now I’ve never been a Laker hater. I even take the "Kobe" side of the Kobe Bryant vs. LeBron James debate. In fact, I usually hate the New Orleans Hornets. And then it hit me. Two former Rockets were on the floor playing for New Orleans. Carl Landry and Trevor Ariza both ended up in New Orleans after wearing our colors.
Carl Landry is a very likable guy. I have a hard time picturing any Rockets fans that dislike Landry. Ariza is kind of a different case because he wasn’t here for very long, but its not like he’s at the top of our black list.
On the topic of likable guys, Shane Battier played a huge part in San Antonio’s loss. It’s hard to cheer for a team that the Rockets were chasing for over a month, but I still do it because I hate San Antonio that much. And because I like Shane Battier, but who doesn’t? I’ll be honest, I did not like our trade with Memphis (shocker, I know). I thought that Battier was a lot more valuable than the "prospects" that Memphis threw our way. But, for some reason, the Rockets got better.
So I’ll pose the question: Are you cheering for the former Rockets since our team didn’t make it? Or are you sticking to your "other team" or "second favorite team"?
Or are you like me and just want to see the Miami Heat lose?

I've got a few teams I'm rooting for
In the west, I hate to sound cliched, but I like the Thunder. I like the coach, their players, and their overall attitude [as opposed to all the whiny superstars and drama present in the more favorite teams]. And though I don’t think they’ll go far, I have to root for the Grizz. I don’t think it’s just as Houston fans — everyone wants to see Battier do well. Lastly, I might want the Lakers to take out the Hornets, because hey, if Dallas manages to get out of their series, someone has to sweep them in the 2nd round.
All right, later dudes. S you in your A’s, don’t wear a C, and J all over your B’s.

I root for anyone against
The Lakers and Heat. If they play each other in the finals I will be a Jazz fan from then on.
Me against the world is a mismatch in my favor.

As long as the Heat lose, my life will be complete.
Remember when Wade said sarcasticly that the world is better because the Heat were losing? Damn right, Wade. Damn right.

I hate him because
When we played Miami in Houston he acted like Aaron Brooks really hurt him and he used his “star power” to get a flagrant foul on a love tap. Fuck him I hope he really gets hurt in the playoffs.
Me against the world is a mismatch in my favor.
As long as the Heat and the Lakers get eliminated, it’s a good playoffs.
I like the Spurs quite a bit, and would be happy to see them do well. However, the Mavs put me off, while the Blazers are, I think, kindred souls to the Rockets. So go blazers.
Thunder are impossible not to like. Nuggets are cool too, since the Melo trade, but I’m gonna go Thunder.
Eff the Knicks.
I kind of hate the Magic now. Probably because I see them as the most overrated team in the NBA. So yeah. Go underdogs except for Griz and Nuggets and Knicks, I guess?

I'm pulling for Dallas, NO, and Memphis
Dallas is my favorite team, Rockets are my second, it’s a bad mixture, but I deal with it.
I want New Orleans to win because I liked Trevor and Landry, and I would love for the Mavs to have them in the 2nd round.
Memphis, the only thing that brought me to watch that game was Battier, I was sleeping during the parts when he wasn’t in, I told my grandmother wake me up when #31 came in the game.
Also, I hope the Celts, Lakers, Heat, Knicks, and The Spurs, can’t stand any of those teams especially the Celtics.
why hate?
why keep on hating on good teams?
just because the Rockets didn’t qualify to playoffs, some are trying to bash other teams.
Miami Heat are great as a team but they are more of one-on-one plays for LBJ,Wade and Bosh. Pretty good talent in Miami capable of scoring 30+ in each of the said players.
If there is a team to hate, then it should be the flopper and whining team and i don’t dare say who are they because all of you already knew them.
Hi San Antonio and Los Angeles Lakers!
an apple a day, keeps the doctor away. (true!)
