I'm going to keep this short becuase obviously I'm not very good at this. But with the post yesterday about parting ways with a liked player, Courtney Lee may be the most viable. I love his game, and I love what he brings to this team. I also love his salary, last year he may have been the most productive player earning $1,352,640. Just as much as we love him here in Houston, several other teams share the same interest as evidence in February at this year's trade deadline.
With all of this being said, I think it would be a travesty if his salary expired next year with the Houston Rockets. So the question begs, should Houston break the mold and give him an extension, or should he be dealt in an effort to move up in the draft or acquire the elusive "elite" player. As much as I would hate to see him go, it can be justified. Obviously he would be a "piece" instead of a "cornerstone" due to his salary, but he could be a key for a high lottery team looking to trade. Luis Scola may not sound as intriguing as Luis Scola and Courtney Lee. What do you guys say, I say sell extremely high.
