"The Dream" as an assistant coach???

Hello fellow Dream Shakers! I never introduced myself, my name is Johnny Salinas and I have been following the Rockets since birth (1982). I am a Houston native and currently a Visiting Professor of Music at Morehead State University, while currently finishing my Doctoral Degree in Music from Northwestern University (Daryl Morey's alma mater).

I am sitting in my office this morning reading about the Rockets (as I do every morning here in Kentucky), and thinking about possible coaches for next year. It is a shame Morey and the Rockets organization could not twist Hakeem into interviewing for an assistant coach position with the Rockets. He could work with the big men (Thabeet and any other big men we might pick up this offseason) on a regular basis, but more importantly, work on improving the Rockets defensive game. If Ewing can be a assistant coach with the Magic, I am sure Hakeem's resume makes him more than qualified for the job. His presence alone might make a huge impact on the Rockets organization. I guess you can say I am just dreaming about "The Dream". Nothing against potential coaches like Mario Elie (loved the "Junkyard Dog" back in the day), but there is a reason players like Kobe and Dwight have sought after Hakeem's help and expertise. He is a proven champion, and I hope he considers coaching in the future, specifically for the Rockets!
