One suggestion would be to use the red and yellow colors of the championship days as the background. I saw your other stuff though, I must say very nice.

I almost considered doing the Red and Yellow for this one considering so many teams have a Red and Black main colors, but I decided against it since its just an alternate color. Houston’s Red and White really but that wouldn’t work for the logo.

Btw I don’t know where to post this but news reports here (Manila, Philippines) are that a Filipino business tycoon (owns a local pro basketball team as well as funds our national team) has been approached to invest in Sacramento Kings. If he does so, he says, he wants to be majority investor. He also said owners of the Atlanta Hawks are looking to sell but he’s leaning towards Sacramento which has a sizeable Filipno community.
This shows that several teams are really losing money. It’s good that Les and Daryl have made wise financial moves.
