As we get closer to the draft, it would seem that knowing what we need to improve would be useful. Yes, I get the "best talent available" notion, but another power forward would seem foolish at best. That said, which positions need work?
I will start with the 2, mainly because it can be argued that we are pretty much set at that position. Indeed with Martin and Lee you can argue that we have one of the top sets of shooting guards in the game. Add Williams for depth and Bud in a pinch and this looks set. It only gets tricky if someone gets hurt or traded.
At the 3 we have some issues. Bud was serviceable but may have reached his limits. T-Will is not a known commodity, although there are a couple million reasons to see what he can do. Even if he comes around as a player, we are one injury away from trouble.
Then there is the 5. I am as big a fan as Chuck has, (I think if we do get some shirts made he should be on them with "I'll f**k you up" as the caption). That said, hearing him introduced as the starting 5 is not ideal moving forward. HT is again an unknown, with about twice the number of good reasons to find out what we have there. Hill is a good option, but mainly against other teams 4/5s. Miller is about as useful to us moving forward as a speed bump in a Ferrari dealership. A trade or buyout is in his future if I don't miss my guess.
OK gang, where do we go from here?
