I have been a bit quiet for a while so I guess it is time for the Batman to come back out of the Batcave. There has been much talk about the draft, who we should draft, and trade scenarios. Since I no longer deal with hypotheticals I am going to give you what I think should happen in our current state with all three of our picks.
1) At pick #14 I would go ahead and take Nikola Vucevic. This guy has legit size to play center and has a very polished offensive game both inside and out. He can also protect the paint better than anyone else on the roster can at this point (unless Thabeet comes in next season and breaks out). This takes care of the C position.
2) At pick #23 I'm taking Tyler Honeycutt. He's a Tayshaun Prince type of a player who hangs his hat on the defensive end and his offensive is still developing. He can play play either wing position and with his length and athleticism at 6'8 can guard multiple positions. He's a slasher with a decent jumper on offense. Not a creator of shots but we don't need him to be.
3) Pick #38 we should take a high potential guy for the simple fact that we have very little to lose. I am torn between Josh Selby and Jeremy Tyler. Selby is a freak athlete of a PG with size at 6'3. The knock on him is not his talent but his attitude and the fact that he had an underwhelming year at Kansas. Tyler is a 6'11 PF/C with long arms and a good athlete. He has good fundamentals and is just 19 years old.
