Who Should the Rockets Trade Up for?
Since trading up is a hot topic around here, I'll go ahead and pitch in my input to make this fanpost acceptable, then attach a poll to it.
Sacramento, Toronto, Charlotte, and Minnesota have been teams who have expressed interest in moving down, if the deal is right.
My preference is Sacramento. We have good communication with them, having done quite a few trades in recent years. The #7 pick gives us a number of options, unlike the #9 pick would. There have been reports saying that Morey is targeting the #5 pick, with the intent of drafting Kawhi Leonard with it. I don't have a problem with Leonard, but it would cost us quite a bit.
Minnesota is a long shot. I think the obvious choice at #2 is Derrick Williams, and he fits the type of player we need. Again, I'm not sure it would be worth trading away most, if not all of our main trade assets away in order to get him.
If you can, write why you would trade up for this player. I like getting everyone's input.
