JVG joined 1560 The Game to discuss Yao
This morning on 1560 The Game, Jeff Van Gundy joined John and Lance to discuss the retirement of Yao Ming. Jeff had some interesting thought on whether Yao belongs in the Hall of Fame and his biggest regret while coaching both him and T Mac. Take a listen to the interview, JVG always is a good interview.
“No. 1 to me, he’s a Hall of Famer,” Van Gundy said. “I don’t care if you put him in as player, as a contributor or put him in with his own heading. This guy definitely gets in for the greatness as a player when healthy or what he did as ambassador.”

JVG is such an interesting guy to hear speak
I have so much respect for his opinion. He’s like basketball’s version of Jon Gruden to me.
I thought it was strange that thought we might not want to retire his jersey. As far as I’m concerned, that’s a no brainer too. He was the image of the Rockets for a generation.
"The French Army: Better defender than David Lee" - JE Skeets, in response to David Lee getting a vote for Defensive Player of the Year.
everybody wishes for a yao comeback
only once proven that this is not at all possible do we retire the jersey. Yao retires because he feels he cannot make it to the 2012 season. Give it a year or two of sheer boredom doing nothing and he might still change his mind, specially if he starts feeling good about his reconstructed foot bones. By then he’s only 32 and a long ways from his rocking chair. A lot of things can still happen.
