Yao Ming Retires
According to Adrian Wojnarowski. Via Twitter- "Rockets' Yao Ming has decided to retire from the NBA, league sources tell Y! Sports. He informed the league office within past 48 hours"..... Wow. Sad day for any fans that still had any sort of hope for a return. But on the other hand i guess this truly does signal the start of a new era of rockets basketball. Hopefully one that can lead them deep into the playoffs in the not so distant future.

Look at the positives....his salary comes off the books.
Proud member of Club FTR. falconPUNCH! for president!
and the negatives. ..his fans in China are off the books too.
Still, I’m sure the Rockets will retain some sort of a loyal following in China.

Kinda pisses me off....
I would have liked to see him play for vets min with the Rockets after the Rockets paid him $35 million with out playing a single game.
I hope he stays with the organization as a coach or something…..that would make me feel a lot better. Kinda feels like he is bailing on the Rockets if he doesnt.
Of course I wish him the best and I understand if he cant play, well then he cant play
But I still dont want to hear it from Yahoo. I would have liked for him to do his own little press conference like Shaq.
I just feel he owes the Rockets organizations and all it fans something…..
That's just not Yao Ming
im sure he’ll meet with the media at some point, but he didn’t want all the attention that comes with retirement.

Do the Rockets retire his Jersey #11??
I think so.
And does he ever make it into the Hall of Fame?
I say yes as well, for what he did for the NBA.
Absolutely they will retire his jersey.
Welcome to Houston Kevin McHale. Just remember "It was Minnesota" is no longer an excuse.
does the stats add up?
retiring clyde’s number opened a can of worms
