Is new coach Kevin McHale already on the Hot Seat?

He [Les Alexander] and general manager Daryl Morey did a nice job selling McHale as the right hire, but that remains to be seen. After two straight years out of the playoffs, the owner and the fans want improved results, not explanations as to why the season continues to end after 82 games.

Whenever the lockout ends, so does McHale's honeymoon, and then the pressure's on.

The rockets first preseason game( Lockout pending) is against the Hornets.

Some stars go overseas. Some stars go Underground. [Sb Nation]

I was there this weekend, as stars from L.A. and Washington D.C. gathered downtown Washington D.C. to stage an exhibition game called Capital Punishment. In addition to Durant, Wall, and Jennings, there was James Harden, Ty Lawson, Demarcus Cousins, Demar Derozan, Javale McGee, all battling in a 1,000-person gym normally home to a D-III women's team. Others, like Andre Miller, Delonte West, and Rudy Gay, sat courtside. In the endless summer of hoops, this was the latest, greatest wave we've seen so far.

Kevin Durant... Movie star

The Oklahoma City Thunder star is on the verge of finalizing a deal to star in a major Warner Bros...The film, which has a basketball subplot, has not yet been named, but it's scheduled to go into production in mid-September, according to sources.

Chances of seeing some of the Rockets play in China during the lockout? 0%

The door to China is supposed to be open now, isn’t it? [...]No, the troubling development is the Chinese Basketball Association’s ban last week, according to the nation’s Xinhua News Agency, on signing any NBA players currently under contract and currently locked out by the league. This accompanies another edict that Chinese teams will not be able to offer NBA players contracts containing out clauses that would allow them to return to the States once the the lockout ends.

Even NBA players have to make ends meet

Delonte West apparently wants to work at Home Depot during the NBA's current lockout. And whether this is a Twitter joke or a legitimate attempt to build up his bankroll one hour at a time, can you blame the guy?

Never want to see this happen.

The Georgetown team is on a two-week goodwill tour of China. But the full court melee that occurred on the Olympic Sportscenter Stadium hardwood even overshadowed Vice President Joe Biden's diplomatic overtures to lunch at local Beijing fried liver restaurant.

Images of the fight spread so quickly through social media, people treated the fight like an international incident.
