The Heat in H-Town

Kevin C. Cox

NBA champs the Miami Heat lace up in Houston tonight. Shane Battier will make a very triumphant return to the Toyota Center and the Rockets, in their current configuration, will get their first look at a championship team. This should be an exciting game.

Questions to Consider:

Shane Battier will return to the Toyota Center for the first time since he was traded to the Grizzlies (See Shane's homecoming interview today here courtesy of ClutchFans). With Shane playing power forward, can some of Houston's bigger bodies take advantage in the post and on the boards?

The NBA champion Miami Heat are exceptionally capable defenders when it comes to pick and roll centric offense and isolation play on the wing. Are the Rockets going to be able to create enough offense to stay in the game?

James Harden's performance against the Heat in the finals is often criticized as being the reason the Thunder were unable to succeed. Will James Harden silence his critics by stepping up against an old foe?

With Kevin McHale on leave, Kelvin Sampson has decided to shake up the rotation just a bit. Saturday night, the Rockets gave 13 players minutes for the first time in franchise history (perviously it was impossible to do so). Will Sampson give rookie forward Terrence Jones more time during important minutes or will Jones' lack of rebounds on Saturday put him back on the bench?

Chandler Parsons had arguably his best game of the season against LeBron James last year and scored a career high 23 points. Will Parsons step up when he's once again asked to check the best basketball player in the world?
