This might have been mentioned already, but...
Has anyone noticed how remarkably well Dalembert is shooting the ball? Over 60% from the floor and over 90% from the charity stripe... I know he's put up a couple of teen/twenty-something games, but is it only me who thinks he should be shooting the ball a couple more times a game? He has the best FG% on the team by a wide margin. I might be crazy in thinking this, so I figured I would just throw it out there.

Yes, Dalembert's enormous improvement on offense is a huge surprise.
He went from a 50.9 TS% last year to 66.7% this season (55.5% is his career average). That’s almost entirely due to an improved shot selection — he’s taking two fewer shots per game but is making about just as many as he did last year. And his field goal percentage at the rim has skyrocketed to around 80%.
It wouldn’t be surprising if he cools down some, but for the moment he’s the most efficient player on the team.
I don’t think he should be shooting more, however. He’s good where he is. Just let the offense come to him, rather than trying to force the offense through him.
Good point!
I guess as long as Lowry is tearing it up it just makes more sense that way. The stats just caught me off guard when I was reviewing them earlier. I guess the shots he isn’t taking now are still being spread to players who can shoot in Martin and Lowry.
If you saw the stats
so will other folks. That kind of shooting gets folks attention. They have to protect the paint, something we have not had going for us for a while. When Yao was healthy, it helped our wings a lot because you could not leave Yao unless you wanted to look foolish. With Sammy putting up numbers, it will help the wings and give folks driving the lane an option if the bigs close down.
Another thing, I really think Dalembert wants to be here! He is playing for the second year of his contract and beyond. We talk a lot about no one wanting to come here. If he does really well, that can’t hurt when free agent time comes around again.
Finally, with Dalembert doing well, it gives us the option of taking a big in the draft next year without needing to swing for the fences. Pick a good kid later in the draft and let him learn from Sammy!
Part of the reason why he's got such a high FG% is because he's not taking that many shots
If we were taking the ball down low all the time, his FG% would drop.
I think it has more to do with where he is taking his shots in the offense.
Many of his shots are dunks and layups. It’s not like he’s posting up on the low block and going one on one with his man. But the guards on out team really seem to set up Dalembert very well and put him in very good position for a high % shot. They should just keep up what their doing and not try to make him an offensive juggernaut.
I hate david stern!
He's killing it now...
I mean, I loved Chuck, but it’s amazing what Dalembert has been doing the past few games. Especially considering he had no training camp with us. Right now against the Pistons he’s at 12 points on 6-9 shooting and 11 rebounds.. I’m just in awe that he’s producing the way he is.
Any offense from dalembert is gravy,
his main job was to block, challenge, and change shots, and he has done a great job at it. He is also done a good job rebounding. Last nite in the Detroit game i finally saw them run an alley hoop for dalembert, even though he could not complete it, i am glad they finally ran that play. The alley hoop is something he is great at, and i think Hill could do well with it as well.

they've run it before
i particularly remember a one-handed slam dalembert threw down from a lowry pass
it probably helps that our point guard is looking to pass
unlike tyreke evans, who’s only really looking to get his own.
As a sarter Dalembert is averaging
10.7 points
9.4 rebounds
1.7 blocks
0.9 steals
64% shooting from the field
90% from the free throw line
In comparison, Tyson Chandler making $14.7M
10.0 points
9.5 rebounds
1.1 steals
1.3 blocks
69% from field
80.5 from free throw line
Dalembert is doing the same work for less than half the money….only $7M a year. Nice job Mr. Morey!

Yeah, and we gave up Chuck Hayes for him instead of opening a hole in our lineup
Acquiring Chandler and waving Billups was a terrible move by New York.
