NBA players can't afford flu vaccines.
Either that or teams are still using “flu-like symptoms” as code for “very hungover.”
Close enough

The flu vaccine is pretty much a crapshoot for me.
You might get the odd variant and then its no help at all.

Derrick Williams is starting?!

Forgot about Rubio.
2 rookies starting under Adelman is unheard of, let alone just 1.

When I play pickup
My friends know not to ever take long twos unless they are completely wide open. They know this because I have spent hours showing them field goal charts. Not sure if it was the charts, or them just wanting to shut me up. Either way, it worked.

I don't mind Chris Paul making it over Lowry.
I mind Ricky Rubio making it over Lowry.
Sonicsgate: A movie about how the Sonics were stolen from Seattle.
What do you mean?
Rubio is like, the best there is.
Definitely.
On the inside I was pretty sour about his “Oh, let me get drafted and chill over here in Spain because I’m Ricky Rubio and I can do that”, but the kid can play. Props to him.
I don't think there's anything wrong with it.
He’d be taking a pay cut to come to the NBA (he’d be on a rookie-scale contract). So even if you don’t think draftees should ever pressure their teams to trade them (and I would remind you that the Rockets have benefited from that in the past), Euro players are something of a special case.
It's a real possibility.
Gotta tell Dalembert not to take rebounds from Kyle…

I always was baffled at how coincidentally Adelman becomes coach and T Mac was out.

The 22 Game Streak.
In my opinion, McGrady’s greatest run as a Rocket.
Sonicsgate: A movie about how the Sonics were stolen from Seattle.
That was wicked.
Some people can say what they want about lack of post season success, but he carried that streak. If I recall correctly, Yoa was out for a lot of that, right?
Yao was out for the second half of that streak.
That streak was just magical because every night a different role player would step up.

Imagine that '09 team if he had been healthy.
Not like ’05 T-Mac healthy or anything, but just 2012 T-Mac healthy.
So, with the All-Star Weekend around the corner, anybody hear about the change to the Rookie Sophomore game?
2 “celebrities” more than likely Shaq and Barkley will be picking teams like in a pick up game from the rookies and sophomores chosen to play. Griffin, Wall, or Rubio first pick?

Unless you could send Ray Allen to Orlando maybe.

Ainge needs to go balls deep and blow it up.
Should have done it last year. He’s got some expiring deals and still has Rondo to build around.
Maireann croí éadrom i bhfad.
The problem is you have a team that can win a series, can go to the finals.
But it’s an old team, so one day you just don’t.
What time do you gut it? Maybe in the off-season last year, but there wasn’t one.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
Completely disagree. Boston was really close to winning in games 4 and 5 against Miami despite Rondo playing with half an arm. Hell, if Rondo made a wide open layup it would at least go to game 6.
I think if you're the Celtics you're not as afraid of rebuilding as Houston fans are.
The team is old, the fans know it, and Rondo is worth building around. You don’t want to be the guy who never stopped hanging out with High School students because you were awesome back then. It’s important to know when you’re beat and move on with dignity. The C’s are too old to contend in an Eastern Conference that has the Bulls and Miami Heat to contend with, even more painful when you consider some younger teams can give them problems.

I just disagree I guess. I think if Boston can make it to the playoffs, they can compete with Miami and Chicago even now.
The Miami series was a lot closer than people seem to remember. Lebron went insane in the 4th quarter of that series which is another thing people like to forget
It should be interesting to see what they do.
They'll have more rest in the playoffs.
The question is do they have the legs and the bench to get there.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
I'll be keeping an eye on them but I'm also convinced they're done.
This season is accelerated and when they got rid of Perkins their youth and beef went with him. That team can’t bully others around anymore and if Rondo and Allen don’t deliver they’re screwed. I don’t think it’s about what they were so much as what they are now. Being competitive is one thing but I don’t think they have it in em’. It’ll be fun to see how the season plays out. I think we see a lot of the same things, we just disagree on its endgame.
Maireann croí éadrom i bhfad.
As long as they stay ahead of the Knicks
And keep our draft picks high
No way.
And Howard played.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
56 points... in 4 quarters of NBA basketball...
I’ve seen better totals in a varsity girl’s game (Granted only by a couple points but still!).
Maireann croí éadrom i bhfad.
I'm pretty sure we've given up 40 in a quarter this year.
And scored that many.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
Gave up 40 in that Clips game
don’t remember if we scored that many. Wouldn’t doubt it. Good offense, though the pace isn’t really there usually.
The one from my high school was pretty good.
My undergrad had a good basketball team too. Much preferred the women’s volleyball team though…
Maireann croí éadrom i bhfad.
My old school wasnt big on athletics
The best organized thing to go to state and nationals were the band, ROTC and dance team
Homestand incoming.
Bucks on Wednesday, Wizards on Friday, Knicks on Saturday, and a T’Wolves rematch on Monday
Sonicsgate: A movie about how the Sonics were stolen from Seattle.
I got a bit annoyed when, after spending a few minutes analyzing how Rubio was completely set when he was called for a blocking foul, they literally had 15 seconds of silence while showing a replay of Rubio’s feet clearly moving when he drew a charge. But other than that it was ok.

You can make the argument that he's the best fairly easily.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
You put Nash in front of him?
Disagree, Nash’s D is terrible

I imagine its Paul and Westbrook/
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
Agreed.
Westbrook just seems sort of douchey to me. I mean, we all know Lowry throws basketballs at women, but at least he doesn’t mess up team chemistry.
I haven't read much about this.
Was this person actually hurt?

You have to put links in the body of text.
I don’t know why.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
Ok I've read it now.
It sounds like something that shouldn’t be a court case.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
No clue, just caut the articles on Y! Sports and ESPN.
It’s probably good he hasn’t been noticed too much, that might have blown up bigger than it did. Imagine if Chris Paul did that?
can you imagine if Kevin Durant doesnt play with a ball hog
case in point, Kevin Martin took 21 shots tonight, I’m gonna say that dont happen if he was playing with Brussel Bestbrook
Oh, forgot about him
But he’s not a true PG, more of a combo guard.

He's Steve Francis.
There game is the exact same.
Sonicsgate: A movie about how the Sonics were stolen from Seattle.
That's an interesting comp.
Francis might have been a better shooter, worse defender.
Still, if he didn’t have Durant he’d be one of the bigger chuckers in the NBA I think.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
Yeah, fair enough, he could drain anything.
Similar hops.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
You must not remember Stevie Franchise very well.
Westbrook without the chip on his shoulder and better shooting.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
Better shooting sure.
I like Westbrook’s chip on the shoulder.
Franchise had much better handles too.
I think Westbrook is a little stronger and more explosive.
Nash is transcendent on open floor
but so so on a structured half court
If they had a secondary ball handler and let Nash come off screens to shoot the three
it wouldn’t be a problem.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
You always will with Nash.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
That is true
But I think Nash is so good in the open floor, that you want him running an managing chaos rather than limit him with structure
No I wasn't saying to not do Nashian things
I just meant, when you end up in half court, basically switch him to SG and let him come off screens. He’s such a good 3pt shooter its worth it.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
I meant Chris Paul and Westbrook. Sorry but there’s no way Lowry is better than CP3.
Westbrook I could hear an argument for and against.
I'm talking about play thus far this year.
I’d rate Paul as better. But I keep saying it, the gap is closing fast.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
10-7
man, starting to like this Rockets team. With Dalembert starting, it seems like a different team.
Feels good that right now the rockets are in the playoffs and Lakers aint haha
meh
we’re playing cupcakes, we’d not fare well in a 7 game series
Lakers only have 2 players better than our starters
Of course, I’m talking about Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol…. to superstar players.
Him too
But Kobe has decided he’s going to take 40% of the Laker’s shots or more.
Bynum started out great, but now he’s shooting like 6 times a game, same with Gasol.
It’s Bad Kobe, the guy who makes his teammates quit. Wait, shit, I’m sorry Kobe Police, don’t take me away!!!!
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
Bynum doesnt get a chance
Mike Brown is an idiot over using Kobe like that
You think that's Brown?
I’ve seen this before and Mike Brown wasn’t involved.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
See: Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron years.
Mike Brown isn’t a coach, he just handles the press.
Sonicsgate: A movie about how the Sonics were stolen from Seattle.
If Lebron's not ready for them yet.
Best Quote From A Current Rocket :
'B****, meet me outside. I will kick you’re a**'.
-The great Kyle Lowry
Overusing Kobe or underusing Bynum
underusing Bynum happens, being a center, he either has to be fed or he had to go get it, Bynum isnt exactly the go get it type
but Kobe’s usage actually spiked? with injuries? come on
Just look at the shots.
His usage is fairly insane. Not saying he can’t make it work, but there’s a cost beyond the odd bad game. Which is fine by me.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
Yeah, he makes it work
but the Lakers would likely be much better if he moved some of his bad shots to Pau and Bynum.
I wonder if Pau longs for his old team
Houston.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
Last time Kobe's usage was this high
He had Kawme Brown and Chris Mihm. They were a one and done low seed
Kobe is now 6 years older
Not exactly a winning formula
i dunno brother
i’d take the rockets in a 7 game series against the lakers right now. by the end of the season who knows but right now rockets have way more chemistry than lakers. and we have Klow
He almost had it at the half then we played crap in the 3rd quarter.
Then MN went small, we went smaller and ran them out of their own gym. It was pretty fun.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
We just need a little more from the bench. It was nice seeing Patterson contribute but we need one more big to step up from the bench.
Yep/
Lineup that closed them out was Lowry, Dragic, Lee, Martin, Patterson.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
There really wasn't a PF out there.
Biggest guy was Love, and Patterson was on him. Next was Williams and Ellington I think, with Lee on Williams? Anyway it was complete Nellie Ball both ways as OAL says.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
Yeah, sorry. Really impressed by Dragic, Lee and Patterson. Fantastic by them.
But I feel like in the regular season to stay fresh, you need one more semi productive big who doesn’t kill the team.
Maybe I’m just used to longer rotations. Especially in this short season.
Somewhat benifited by pretty Ricky's
pretty turn overs, lots of transition points
On that small lineup the Rockets were actually quicker at every spot.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
and they did not utilize their advantage of size
It was like all of the sudden they didnt know how to deal with the advantage. they were taking jumpshots and creating off their guards
They tried that, in the first half, and I though it went ok.
The MN got smaller in the 3rd, and the Rockets responded in the 4th. Also lots of fresh legs off the bench.
Lowry needs lots of massages though, because he played 43 minutes. Next highest was Martin at 35. McHale is going to kill the golden goose at this rate.
"Each in turn... volunteered his suggestions, his invaluable suggestions."
Bucks, Wiz, Knicks, Wolves, Spurs, Suns, Wolves
14 in a row is a definite possibility

The deers are could always be better than you thought
We have to beat the Knicks though, improve or draft stock
There's some close games in there
but 5 of those are home games, 4 in a row. Would love to see it happen
