Courtney Lee: I Could Have Lost My Life Tonight
Apparently, Courtney Lee was involved in a car crash following the Houston Rockets 97-84 win over the New York Knicks last night. Here's what he wrote on his twitter at 2:41 am:
Thanking God right now!!! Thanking Cadillac for airbags!! Without them I could have lost my life tonight and two others close to me.
Via Jonathan Feigen, this wasn't incidental contact.
"The other driver ran a red light doing like 100 mph," Lee said via a text message on Sunday.
Heavy stuff. Please, if you're out driving late at night, try to avoid smacking Courtney Lee (or anyone, for that matter) with your car. The Rockets' bench requests his presence at all times.
Lee is averaging 9.3 points per game this year. He's been a crucial key to the Rockets' success and remains a valued two-way commodity as a wing stopper with explosive hops and three-point range. Glad to hear he's OK.

Wow...100 MPH through a red light?!
I’m so glad CLee is doing alright, as well as the passengers in his car! That’s some really scary shit to experience.
My thoughts are like Brian Cushing on the field: Everywhere.
This happened downtown.
How the hell do you go 100 through downtown? I can’t get to 50

Not that I speed through red's or anything.
Just making an observation

I think worth noting is he said "like 100" and from the perspective of someone in an accident, any speed is blazing fast.
If you’re used to downtown and don’t think you can tend to get up to speed, it probably was in the 40’s or 50’s. Some kid just skid off the road back home (Upstate New York) and took out a shed and part of a garage of my uncle’s because he whipped around an icy corner going 40. But for that shed the kid would have tumbled down a real rocky hill and probably died. The structures are wrecked. It’s the nature of a vehicle weighing anywhere from 1500 pounds to 1 ton slamming into another object.

Well
The other guy was drunk and if you ignore the red lights you can go that fast. Thank GOd he is all right. THe other driver is pretty effed up from what I hear.

It's not like CLee was the one that went through a red light at 100 MPH
Some people will always conspire no matter what.

It's irresponsible
I guess I could say the other driver was a Mermaid

Unbelievable
Thank God Courtney Lee and his friends were OK. Its frustrating that one idiot has the power to ruin lives like this.

I'm glad he's alright, and I hope that he doesn't experience any backlash or anything like that.
Dallas and Houston fan making it work. Gig 'em!
Lucky tit! :o
Wow. Glad to hear nothing “really” happened.
What a moron, that guy that tried to “be somewhere 1 minute earlier”.

Sweet mother of shit that ranks up there in the top 5 of most disturbing news stories I've read in the last 10 years.
Glad Courtney is alright.

That other guy has some major problems now because of this…
… sure glad I ain’t him right now…

I had to stop arguing with drunks, Steeler fans, and all other fools.
It was making my brick wall jealous...

Good think Courtney is alright
On another note,
Anyone see the Mavs – Spurs game today?
Insane game.
Oh dear Jeebus
Seriously though. That’s heavy and I’m so happy he’s alright. I would imagine he’ll be sore tomorrow in all sorts of weird places in his back. Your body clenches up something fierce when it thinks impending doom is unavoidable. Such a nightmare to be at the mercy of idiots on Houston roads (not that Dallas or Austin are any better, idiots are everywhere). I know all about it.
I hope Martin is back tomorrow so that Courtney doesn't have to play that much after this.
I actually hope they let him sit out the whole game. Even if you don’t get really hurt a wreck can still be very physically traumatic.
this just in
driver of the other car was hired by david stern to try and further fuck the rockets.
jk
in all seriousness, i’m glad lee and his passengers are ok. also, I pray that the other driver makes a full recovery and learns from this.

Crazy.
Glad Lee and his passengers are okay. Driving can be dangerous, any time of day.
