Rockets Interested in Kaman??

PrintThe Hornets are getting inquires from several teams interested in obtaining center Chris Kaman in a trade, according to league sources. Since General Manager Dell Demps said this past Friday they intend to trade Kaman, at least five teams have inquired, including Southwest Division rivals the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets.

Chris Kaman's salary this year is $12.7M. I doubt the Rockets are actually interested in his talents so are they looking to clear even more cap space for the summer??? What would the Hornets want in return?
Just something interesting on what the Rockets might be thinking.

Lot of noise right now including,
Rockets talking to NOLA about Kaman
Demps showing interest in Scola
Other sources saying Scola is available
NOLA saying a young center with length willing to play limited minutes would be welcome
Could Scola & Thabeet for Kaman be possible?
It would give us two legit 5s, and allow Hill to share time at the 4 with Pat. You have Morris who could play the 4 if we had an injury. Also gives us huge cap space for next year. I would not put money on it, but that trade would not surprise me. Seems like everyone is making the correct pre-trade noises anyway.

if that happens, then I think the Rockets would have almost 30 million in cap space.

When the asking price goes down (which it will)
the Rockets will be there to talk with them. In a million years I can’t see them giving up Scola…more like Hill, Flynn, and Thabeet with a 2nd round pick

low risk, high reward. 2 out of 5 nights are backup center sucks balls. Kaman is a veteran and you typically know what you’re going to get. He does have the occasional lapses where he thinks he’s George Gervin and make you go WTF.. Kind of like when Brad Miller would think he’s D Rose.
If you can trade Scola and an 09er or something of that sort, I would be all for it. If Demps seriously loves Scola, perhaps we could send him and mor expiring 09ers for Landry and Kaman, just a thought.

That would be stupid good
Easily clears the cap space for howard, and fives us an attractive roster for him. Trading 4 guys who don’t play for a starter, and getting a a vet bigman and def. starter would be awesome. throw bud in there and i think i would die (since we get him off the books for next year, we have parsons to back up ariza)

If we did this could we run Kaman and Dalembert at the same time?
If so, a trade like Scola + Hill for Kaman would work excellently.
